"If you can see it, you don't have to be it" - so much truth in this simple yet powerful statement 😊

Thank you Alex for the excellent explanation. I understood that through childhood experiences with traumatic episodes we build these ways of protection and they become prisons. I really want to believe that working in awareness can liberate me from those "responses".

I fight or fawn dependant on the situation. I would like to know how to have space to choose not to fight but it seems instantaneous.

I respond flight and fawn. All my life. Only realised I was different in my 40s and only understood why in my 60s . Now 75 and still fighting a battle but my ingrained strategy is stay on my own ..which got a whole lot easier in retirement. I socialise but only in small doses.

Fawn-Flight Can you please do a Video about problematic examples of situations in reality and how to overcome them without 4F-Reactions? Which solutions are helpful? I need some practical advice.

Yes this video was helpful, and I've had all of these responses at different times. The one I'm least likely to do is freeze. I've only fleed in extreme circumstances.

Very helpful video to understand why I did what I did when in various unsafe and abusive situations and why I still react like that now - the walls are starting to come down but are easily re-erected if I have flashbacks nightmares or feel unsafe It’s very hard to change after you’ve spent your entire life relying on these behaviours and thinking to keep you sane Freeze and Fawn are my go to responses in unsafe situations Thanks for the easily understood explanations Alex

IF I could think before it happens (fight) or while it's happening, I could do something different. But it seems instantaneous knee jerk reaction. 😱🤯😰 How do I begin to Think??
