1) Maintain lean body mass as you age. Eat healthy calories. Nutrient dense smoothies. Let animal products go and replace with whole plant sources. 2) Chickpeas, quinoa, spelt, teff, chia seeds, mushrooms, hemp seeds, wild rice. 3) Correct hormonal imbalance; avoid plastics, avoid using birth control pills and correct low testosterone. 4) Train like an athlete, but don’t overdo. Start with Bodyweight exercises. Slowly build strength and endurance under medical supervision and your own intuition.

So I’ve been watching Dr. Price for about a month now. I started eating mostly plants more than a week ago. When I say that I already feel more alive!!! It’s crazy. I can’t imagine how I will feel after a month. What I’m eating: fruits, vegetables, nuts, including oatmeal, avocados, chickpeas, etc. I also cut out sugar, but I do have honey in my tea. I drank senna leaf tea to cleanse my system. I really do feel so much better! This man is saving life!!!

I was a Plant Based Vegan, and told myself, I'm going back to eating meat for the protein for Muscle, in my observation, I see NOO benefit in going back, I just ended up gaining the weight I lost without adding any Muscle. I believe my Problem the 1st time gaining muscle on Plantbased wasnt the diet itself, I was doing a TON of CARDIO, Im talking 2 Hr cardio sessions daily, I fasted alot, and Ate Less trying to get to low BF% So I was small but lost muscle. This go away, Im gunna eat more, do wayyyyyy less cardio and focus primarily on Strength Training to keep and gain muscle at all cost. I want too take on the "Grazing" mindset that large animals have. And see if that makes the Difference. The fact youre 220 on plantbased and can keep it, is incredible. Thank You Brother!

Both plant based diet and meat diet can build muscle. I have tried plant based died for 6 years and currently I am back to meat. One thing I can tell you is that on meat & poultry diet my strength, energy and endurance levels are significantly better. This however might not be the case for everyone. I believe the best diet is the one that allows you to thrive at your best. But whether you eat meat or not, consume any food in moderation, get plenty of rest and exercise and avoid highly packed snacks and junk foods. Oh and let's not forget to meditate, reflect or practice gratitude always!

Dr. Bobby you as speaking TRUTH. As 45 I started my fitness journey. So, many obstacles kept falling in my way. I’m not going to even go into detail because it would turn into a book. Having said that believe me I kept getting injuries; getting sick; losing weight; gaining more weight back just over and over. Well now I’m 59 and about 18 months ago I decided I’m going to listen to my body. I decided only to do calisthenics and yoga. Of course I knew nutrition had to be my foundation and of course that’s been a roller coaster as well. But I say all this to say. It’s been about 18 months and I can feel and see the changes in my body’s ability to bounce back from injuries. So I know you’re speaking the truth. I just recently ordered your Detox system and your book Vegucation not Medication. You are really inspiring me to keep going. Thank you so very much

My chiropractor randomly asked me if I had "heard of Dr. Bobby Price" once she found out I eat an exclusively plant-based diet. I hadn't, but I'm here now and I'm so glad. It's encouraging to see someone so intelligent with a platform talking about the importance of resistance training for muscle, not just eating obnoxious amounts of animal protein multiple times per day. It's also mind-blowing how real this protein myth seems to be. I've been eating 180-200 g of plant protein for three years, but I just reduced this by almost half. Training sessions have felt amazing, I have better Whoop recovery scores, I've hit several PRs in the gym in just two weeks, and I'm sleeping better.

I got a chance to open my eyes after I got in a accident and lost a piece of my intestine specifically a piece of my cecum, appendix, and a percentage of my ileum I believe (Would be nice to see that regenerate lol) but even after the accident it wasn’t enough to completely knock me back in focus and realization, I guess I had to keep stepping through the fire to completely get to the other side and eventually I did now I’m here with full awareness and see a chance at a wise and healthy future and you sharing your knowledge and experience is a great part of that so thank you for being an amazing and kind person and I hope one day we can cross paths eventually.

I’m an advocate of eating beef & other animal products; however, I think both sides of this coin want intellectual supremacy. I understand that essential aminos & the most anabolic can be attained Vegan. But you might agree the vegan needs a bit more mindfulness and educated to optimize protein muscle synthesis. The meat eater can hit aminos by accident and needs to be more educated and mindful in their relationship with saturated animal fats. Keep moving forward!

Just ordered on Amazon the recipe book. It is so frustrating for me to stop eating process foods. I stopped eating beef, pork, chicken several years ago. 56, 200Lbs!!! Overweight. I have struggled for the past five years with plant based junk and struggling with sugary foods and starches. I am lost regarding healthy and tasty recipes for all three meals I need to consume to loose the weight, strengthen body/tone etc. thank you. I will keep you posted.

So been waiting on a video like this. Thank you so much for this information. It's very helpful. I have drastically cut out fast food, soda and snacking on chips candy etc.... and been lifting weights for 30-45 mins 3-4 times a week and doing cardio at least 1 time a week. Thinking about adding one more cardio day and I'm having great results but still want to continue to improve my nutrition and cutting out meat is what my body is telling me to do. I appreciate you! Thanks!

This was so good!! I’m plant based and I started training 5 days a week 3 weeks ago and I’ve been stressing trying to figure out how to get more protein in. So this was a major help. I’m wondering which foods will help me get more of the aminos in to absorb the plant proteins?

Dr. Price, I have list 1/2 my body weight in 1 1/2 plus more. Ive loss a lot of collagen and muscle. Know i have the hanging skin. Im not vegan or any of those other vegan, paleo etc.. however, i have not had meat, fish, cheese, rice, bread, potatoes, sugar in years. I guess the health scare stopped me from eating. I was afraid to eat. Yes, ive had health challenges but i feel better! Know, i want to look better. Just tone and rebuild some of what i lost. I've gone from 306 to 137. My goal was 150. Im still on this journey just did more research and alkaline eating along with blood type eating. It's not easy yes confusing but I'm eating. Listening to you, I don't want to lose or gain, i just want to strengthen and tone. Im not a big eater. I dont eat out i make my food so i know whats in it. The weight came off so fast, i started getting concerned. My wbc was very low. Being told to eat fish and meat which my blood type requires but i still had not and of course it led to protein deficiency. (doctors).. I'm ready to make that change for healthy eating and routine. My meals are small meals and sometimes i dontfeel like eating but know i have to. Im my college weight and i love it! But, without the collagen and muscle, the look is anorexic. How do you rebuild collagen being plant base?

the body prioritizes collagen production,it never stops, and if supply for the body is the proper nutrition to make healthy collagen, the age-related decline isn’t as notable or severe... straightforward:vitamin C. Collagen is everywhere in the body, but no need to consume it straight as it is to boost internal terrain. When vitamin C enters the body’s cells,it hydroxylates(adds hydrogen and oxygen)to two amino acids:proline and lysine. This forms a precursor molecule called pro-collagen that is the packaged and modified into collagen outside of the cell. This is one of the reasons why vitamin C is so important for skin, immunity, and overall health.Aactually helps make up 18 types of collagen found in the body. When consumed,it targets skin needing a collagen production boost while helping preserve existing collagen from damage,” Any high quality, plant and organic based source of vitamin C is an excellent collagen precursor, and right at the collagen frontier in skincare. There are many nutrients that support collagen production so it's more complicated than just listing out foods because it comes down to having the correct amino acids present.” It turns out that vitamin C doesn’t work alone. The body needs a sufficient supply of proline, glycine, and lysine to synthesize collagen.Glycine and proline are considered “conditional”amino acids, which means that the body is generally able to produce them internally.Glycine-rich foods include banana, beans, cabbage, cauliflower, cucumber, kale, kiwi, pumpkin..Proline-rich foods include buckwheat sprouts asparagus, lentils, cucumber, cabbage, chives, tempeh, watercress, and white mustard seeds. Then there is lysine, another amino acid that is required for collagen synthesis.Well balanced whole food plantbased diet is enough-simply boost vitamin C consumption gradually and make sure that diet is rich in fruits, berries, vegetables, seeds, nuts, legumes.(buckwheat can be sprouted and dressing with hemp hearts and dill greens, green lentils can be sprouted as well as chickpeas and mungbeans and turt into dips or also dressing with herbs and spices, hemp or pumpkin seeds paste called urbech)Zinc is a cofactor in collagen production, meaning it activates the proteins responsible for making collagen.sources of zinc are predominantly seeds, nuts, and beans...Eating plants high in lysine and arginine will help spur on collagen production. So getting both of these amino acids from diet is a good start. Technically there is no official recommended dosage specifically for lysine or arginine, but recent research suggests older adults may need to consume around 1.2 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight.Organic whole plant sources first-body will absorb these better, and get a whole bunch of other nutrients too.Proline and hydroxyproline are amino acids that make up 23%of collagen, and have been found to be precursors to sustaining collagen production. Indeed, they play a key role in the stability of collagen. One of the prominent features of antioxidants is ability to stop inflammation and stabilize collagen. It does so by preventing free radical damage, which inhibits enzymes from clinging to collagen.

Copper, manganese, organosulfur from certain plants(different resources contain different types of OSC and these compounds may have different health benefits. Various OSC/nutraceuticals are claimed to have strong antioxidant activity)just have to make sure to get all the vitamins and minerals that needed(through eating lots of fresh whole plant foods)and bodie do the rest.Studies have shown that consuming chlorophyll increases the precursor to collagen(procollagen)in the skin Lycopene also helps protect the skin and add with collagen synthesis, tomatoes contain a variety of antioxidants(including vitamin C),which protect the skin at a cellular level.Pumpkin seeds are one of the richest plant sources of zinc, which as mentioned above, acts as a cofactor for collagen synthesis.Zinc also helps speed up wound healing, and maintain healthy cell membranes, which makes zinc a must-have nutrient for skin health.

A plant-based diet has numerous benefits! Some of the most significant advantages include: 1. *Reduced risk of chronic diseases*: Plant-based diets have been shown to lower the risk of heart disease, stroke, and cancer. 2. *Weight management*: Plant-based diets tend to be high in fiber and low in saturated fat, making it easier to maintain a healthy weight. 3. *Improved gut health*: A diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains promotes a healthy gut microbiome. 4. *Lower environmental impact*: Animal agriculture is a significant contributor to greenhouse gas emissions, so a plant-based diet can help reduce your carbon footprint. 5. *Cost-effective*: Plant-based protein sources like beans, lentils, and tofu tend to be more affordable than meat. 6. *Increased fiber intake*: Plant-based diets are typically high in fiber, which can help promote digestive health and satiety. 7. *Lower risk of foodborne illnesses*: Plant-based diets tend to have a lower risk of foodborne illnesses like salmonella and E. coli. 8. *Improved nutrient intake*: Plant-based diets are often rich in essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Remember, it's important to ensure you're getting enough protein, vitamin B12, and iron on a plant-based diet.

I really appreciate the level of detail you provide, making everything logical and digestible for us commoners. I am 8.5 years vegan (did it for the animals, stayed for the health gains and decreased environmental impact) so I've heard most of this before but it was really well delivered and helps cement my understanding. It's very inspiring to find doctors who understand how diet and exercise can heal the body instead of greedily pushing drugs and medical procedures. Over the years I've eliminated nearly all of my family's exposure to dietary plastics, xeno-estrogens, and chemical pesticides/fertilizers because physical/mental/environmental health is very important to us. My husband is highly active with 5% body fat and it's been a struggle for him to eat enough calories from healthy, whole food plant-based sources without turning to oils, sugars and other processed foods (which drives me crazy). We almost exclusively eat at home (for health and financial reasons) and I cook 70% from scratch, including a weekly rotating variety of grains, legumes and soy/sesame milk, and I'm always on the hunt for ideas to help him gain muscle. He's very picky but I've finally gotten him to enjoy quinoa and smoothies (practicing in the kitchen is finally paying off!), so I'm hoping this helps keep him fueled.
