Nice lecture sir, But factually wrong in some points. 1. Henderson report has came after 1962 war which was formal postwar enquiry commission headed by Lt. gen. Henderson Brooks and and Lt. Gen. P S Bhagat ( VC) to find reasons of defeat. Lt gen Thorat had given a warning in his report which was submitted in 1959. 2. Gen Thimmaya and Lt gen . Thorat has resigned over this issue not gen. Thapar. Gen. Thapar was next COAS after thimayya and lead army in 1962 war and disgraced our country because of his pliability with nehru and menon and inability to control Lt gen kaul. 3. Subhedar maj. Joinder singh fought bravely but he got captured and succumbed his injuries in POW camp. China has returned his ashes gracefully after knowing he was honored with PVC. You had described another PVC winner maj. shaitan singh ( saviour of chushul).

Sir I would like to add that, the only PVC in AIR FORCE is Flying Officer Nirmaljeet Singh Sekhon . The pilot you are talking about might be awarded some other award. Please check and correct me if I am wrong. thank you
