because the first 2 are heavily based on Deutsche militaries. Krieg as the old Deutsches Armee, from pre 1928, the steel legion as Panzer grenadiers and SS, and Tallarn the Afrika korps (Ie, the best :P) with Arabian inspiration.

@@hmkhgx8068 Rommel adopted knowledge from his officer schools about warfare such as the Guerilla and mobile ambush tactics used by the Arabs, specifically T.E.Lawrence, and the mass mobile ability of the German Panzer, mechanised, and motorised Corps. The Afrika korps, used fast, precision attack, and followup anti counter attack maneuvers. After 2 months combat after the Allies finally pushed back at Egypt, 37mm gun crews could predict Royal horse Artillerys swift unlimber and target time. They'd sit on a ridge, begin fireing. Assume a RHA spotter was with whatever they were targeting, and with about 1-3 minutes or less. They'd have moved behind the ridge, and another crew would be further away and ready to take up their fireing position. Typically outside the calculated RHA 6lbr howitzer range. The Tallarn are heavily built around tanks, mobility, and transport. The Afrika Korps, was the same.

This story deserves another novel. I read the Desert Raider novel and I thought the Middle Eastern twist on the imperium was cool. The author even created a perfect schism within their Emperor based religion similar to the Sunni/Shia split in Islam.

CH7 you know they're also based on Afrika corps right? they're aesthetics is Arabic because of Lawrence in WW1, and the Guerilla warfare too. Their excellence in tactical planning and counter tactics, wide usage of mechanised infantry and armour, plus the later 1941 style Afrika corps tactics is all Rommel and Afrika corps (Dey's amazin'!!!!!)

Is it possible that Tallarn is now an subterranean agri-world? I mean it's not impossible to grow food underground. I would also expect this regiment to be specialized in tunnel warfare. However besides all that, this regiment is awesome! They kinda remind me of the Aribian fighters during ww1.

All Might "Whaht!!!" they're effectively Afrika corps!!! O.o they're Amazing in game! especially with lots of tenks, 37mm anti tank guns (weapons crew with las canon), Mg40 (heavy stubber), one or too FW "strike craft" models as Ju87's or the thunderbolt (BF109 conversion) etc. All my Chimeras are converted as pz 1's, 2's, 3's, and 4's or the other chimera chassis models as modifief panzer 1-4 models (like pz4/Küggel blitz as hydras etc). Panthers and Tiger E's are converted Russ'. my half tracks are torox's with the Victoria models front suspension, and ork half track at the rear. the "twin auto cannons modeled as the front machine gunner, and heavy stubber to the rear. they're all open top and slightly cut down. I've 3 earthshaker gun carriages from my iron hands Army as the required field artillery. Rommel my "warlord" field commander is in a "Küggelwagen"

Speaking as somebody who hails from the hostile desert world of Australia, I cringed when you talked about drenching the shemagh in cold water to help cool down. Soaking headgear in cold water does NOT cool you down. It just tricks your body into THINKING that it has cooled down, which results in the body lowering its defenses against extreme heat. Doing this can actually induce heat stroke, rather than preventing it. You are much better off just drinking the water.

-QUESTION- Could it be possible that Sanguinius is still "alive", in the sense that his soul might still be intact somewhere in the warp, banished by Horus, where the Emperor cannot detect it? In a similar way to the splintered souls of the emperor is in the warp? Does the books specifically say if Horus actually destroyed his soul, or just that the Emperor could find no life in Sanguinius' body?
