Grass is always greener. If anything I'd be careful not to have too high expectations. It's a good way to set yourself up to hate life there if it doesn't meet those expectations. Consider visiting and not doing the tourist thing. But I sincerely hope you enjoy it~

This is a lovely apartment, there is a lot of scope for storage, particularly that 'weird little corner' -- a huge cupboard could fit there! And when/if budget allows, Ikea has lots of good storage options that you have space for. I'd probably move the table and chairs to the living room/bedroom and put it by the photo wall so I could watch television while eating. :) Thanks for this look at your home. It's very nice.

A very nice apartment indeed! Kind a inbetween the two previous apartents: smaller than the latter, bigger than the first and i like the "attic" bed to utilize the most pasce possible underneath.

it usually depends on the location here in Japan, usually if its in tokyo, apartments like mine would probably be between 500-700 USD

I live in a pretty rural area in Japan, so that's basically one of the reasons why the apartment prices are cheaper. Apartments in big cities like Tokyo have $400 apartments as well, but those are usually a lot smaller in size, if my current apartment is located in tokyo for ex, this would maybe be around $500~$600 instead of the $400. so it would really depend where you will settle.
