Hello, everyone! This is how a $ 400 Japanese Apartment in Hamamatsu looks like. I am currently living in a Leopalace apartment which is known for its 1DK units. Each unit comes with the basic appliances such as washing machine, microwave oven, fridge, TV and AC. So, you don't have to buy them when you move in.
Please enjoy the video!

If they made 5000 of these $400 month apartments in California they could really help curb some of the homeless situation.

Unfortunately filthy rich corporations buy out the plots of land and instead of making efficient and affordable apartments they make hella expensive luxury condos. Also I know in urban areas while there are plenty of vacant homes sitting around I hear the city still makes money off of them, so they keep the properties at high prices instead of lowering the price to sell. Love living in greedy America :(

This is nostalgic. My wife and I used to live in a LeoPalace apartment when we first came to Japan (we were just friends back then). We moved to a LeoNext apartment afterwards, it’s the same price but has a second-floor and proper bedroom. We still rent an apartment at the same price, but it’s a 2-bedroom apartment now. I love how LeoPalace feels like a fancy condominium that comes with furnishings!

That extractor fan setting panel is amazing! I wish we had them here in the UK. It becomes very damp in the UK and so if you dry your clothes indoors or have daily showers it can create mould (even if you have dehumidifiers and you air out the apartment which I do twice daily in the winter). The extractor fans tend to be on timers attached to the light so they'll shut off soon after your lights go off :( Thanks for taking us on a tour of your apartment :)

I lived in a LeoPalace apartment in Yokohama with the exact same layout. I just wish it wasn't on the ground floor because I tended to get bugs that came in from outside a lot (the worst by far being huntsman spiders...). :/ Overall, though, it was a decent setup that lasted me four wonderful years. I wish more countries would build affordable housing like this.

@@fabGayle I’ve been living in japan for almost 8 years. Tokyo 6 years and got my first job in Osaka so I’ve been here for 2 years then corona pandemic came I lost my job then looked for a new job and found a new one in Tokyo so I’ll be moving back the end of this month!! I just wanted to make sure if a semi double futon size 120cm x 200cm fit in that bed area or not!! So, it’s best for me to buy a singe size futon the a semi double one?

Abdullah Mufti wow! You’ve stayed here way longer than me. Congrats on landing that new job in Tokyo. I suggest you get the single size since mine fit just right and I don’t think it can fit a bigger one.

What do you think about the Electricity cost?
@fabGayle

The electricity can be expensive especially in the winter and summer since you use the heater and airconditioner respectively. But again, it really depends on how you use it. 😊
