Hello Joe. RPM heads perform well. They flow around 270 to 280 CMF at .60 lift. Those heads are good for up to 650 hp ported with the right set-up. I would guess the Torq will be good with the longer stroke. 540 to 580 on torq or more. I'll say 565 on torq. HP 560. I could look up the math but my guess will due.

If you got that quench right, that Dodge 400/499 Stroker can make on Dyno around 595 HP and 678 Torque! 🏁🏁 I really need to see the head chambers, I would have made LSA 106, Head Gasket ideal would have been .020 to .028 at the most, and how much advance timing did you put? 🏁 SHELL 93 Octane? Driven GP1 20w-50 for lifter noise gone.
@JustMoparJoeАй бұрын
Thanks brother. I’m very familiar with quench, but we had to sacrifice some for this one. He bought the stroker kit a while back and told me to make it pump gas friendly. I wanted to air on the cautious side, and ended up with 10.9/1 static. I know he wants to run nitrous, but I’m not sure he’s running higher octane for that. The LSA is happier with his nitrous here, and will be more street friendly. Definitely room to improve on camshaft and cylinder heads in the future.
@rickkelsch2040Ай бұрын
try Royal Purple HSP 20W-50 motor oil for the lifter noise. Adjust the preload to .02-.03 off the floor
@JustMoparJoeАй бұрын
I’m going to play with it some more before dyno day.
@pockets5628Ай бұрын
How much preload do you have on the morel hyd roller lifters? They need .050” preload which is 1 turn on a 7/16 adjuster. And also you need an oil with a centistoke rating of 15 or less at 100c. That means no 20w50. I run one of the AED 950HO Modified carbs. Works great. Made 630hp 605trq on my 228/238@.050” cammed 467. I did have to put transfer slot restrictors in the main body.
@JustMoparJoeАй бұрын
I'm glad you shared your experience with the carb. I went with 1/2 turn of preload and debated trying more. Powell just did a video saying to do the minimum amount possible on hydraulic rollers, but I was going to reset them at 3/4. The oil currently is AMS oil 30 weight break in oil. Dave loves the AMS oil
@pockets5628Ай бұрын
@@JustMoparJoeMorel lifters need more preload than that. With less, they will be noisy. Go another 1/2 turn. You mean Amsoil? 30w break in oil is 11.4 centistoke.
@thomasward4505Ай бұрын
I adjusted my rocker arms I believe one and a quarter turns with Hughes rockers which I don't think are all that great. Because any less than that and they were extremely noisy, haven't had any problems with 40 dragstrip runs and some Street time

Looks great. How long did you run your engine to break in the rings? What’s your take on preparing the engine for breaking in the engine before dyno testing with a load? Thanks for the mopar stuff!
@JustMoparJoeАй бұрын
@@jimdrechsel3611 thanks Jim. I usually do around 20 minutes. I can’t guarantee a complete break in until there’s a load, but with Rick’s profilometer with honing, it’s supposed to break in very quickly. I’m mostly checking for leaks and listening to the what I can. Anything I can catch before spending $900 to dyno is a bonus!
@jimdrechsel3611Ай бұрын
@ Ouch that’s expensive. Are there dyno tests with motors installed? If so will you still have air fuel ratio readings? If during a compression test, you have some leak down in a fairly new engine Is it possible your rings haven’t broken in yet?
@JustMoparJoeАй бұрын
@ I’ve thought about dyno tuning my barracuda. Typically guys want to know the numbers at the crank. It’s possible to have a little leak down before the actual break in is completes I just did a cranking compression to compare results. It’ll show ring seal and valve seal, also what octane fuel can be used with the engine. We are going with 91-93 for sure
