@@bruh-tk2bo after 12 weeks of training and hitting 1000lb will give him top 3 guaranteed. Last year he would have won it with anything over 990. He does not need to be at his all time best to blow away the competition in terms of the deadlift. Several guys competing at the Arnold's in 2024 can't even lift 400 on the elephant bar or it's their max.

@stoneeh
@stoneeh 4 ай бұрын
@@cameronearls6497 holy shit. This may be the most brainless thing I've ever read. Haha. Muscle memory is actually the problem. You rebuild muscle that you once had fast, but your tendons and ligaments grow much slower, and those are the weak points and get injured. As it happened with his pec injury, which occured when he re-gained strength too fast are an extended break from strength sports from it via his boxing career. I suspect even if you knew though, you would still be cheering him on. That's how you fair weather friend types operate. When everything is well, you're here to cheer and share the limelight. When things turn sour, it wasn't your fault, and you disappear as quick as a roach under a rock. True garbage human beings.
@Jonse70
@Jonse70 4 ай бұрын
@cameronearls6497 has nothing to do with muscle memory. And the previous comment is spot on. Tendons and ligaments require a much longer time to get as strong as the more softer tissue (muscles) For example, when you rip a muscle of a bone...

Thor it genuinely seems like you have the ability to come back stronger than ever before. That you could beat your deadlift WR, the all time record, and win many titles in strongman again. Seriously I think you have what it takes to be the best ever. You've responded well to your injury and it's all very impressive. I'd love to see you smash all the records big boy. I know this isn’t the popular opinion, but I feel like Thor should treat this first competition like his “opener” at a powerlifting meet. Keep everything at 95%. If he aims for 5th place overall instead of podium, it will be so much safer and still make a huge statement. He’s such a freak, it’s all about risk management. If he just stays injury free for an extra year, he’s 1st or 2nd in every competition again.

Fantastic to see things going so well for you Hafthor! Still, fight the urge to jump over some workouts because the previous one felt too light and not challenging enough. I think you are mature enough not to do that, but I caution against it just the same. Best of luck with your training, and I hope and pray that you don't suffer any injuries. The Arnold title is yours for the winning if you don't hurt yourself in the lead up to it.

I like watching the training. Just the simple stuff. I like seeing the progression. It is interesting to see how some of the form has gone, at least on the first couple of reps, but then by the final set, it looks fluid again. It will be interesting to see how it all comes back, since you were the master of good form before. Also I have had a bunch of surgeries this year and feel like I am starting over with strength, so it will be interesting to see how you come back, and build up.

Have to admit, it was enjoyable watching the training for boxing and powerlifting etc but these are the videos I enjoy the most, proper strongman training. You just can't beat it! This is the first video of you I have watched since the Shaw podcast and that's where I learnt the terrible news, I hope you and the family are healing ok. All the best man. p.s. Is Eddie Hall paying your training partners to put you off (chair fall) while you deadlift? 🤣🤣
