in 1980, When I was 9 years old my family moved to Brownsville (and still live here). And I remember seeing that tow truck around town. 😊 I'm glad it is going to be saved. 😊 And the phone number on the side of the truck is still a working phone number for Napa in Brownsville Oregon. 😊 And this past Saturday, I seen Gary that used to own the fire truck that you bought a few months ago. 😊 His daughter Amy is married to one of my nephews. 😊 Love the videos. 😊

Another great find. I've seen people use linseed oil on paint like this one with good low budget results. A great cleaner that will clean and degrease anything without hurting paint can be found at the dollar store, for a dollar, is AWESOME. It could not have been named any better because it is an awesome cleaner. Not only around the shop and vehicles but in the house for grease on the stove and you can even spray it on grease spots on clothes and it's gone. Been using it for years and have bottles sitting around within reach everywhere. I usually put a windex sprayer head (the best ones made) on the bottles for the best results.

Lol. That shouldn't have been much of a surprise to anyone who has known a old school sign painter. 🤣 They would normally fix it, though. All I can think is that it went unnoticed for so long, that Ken's brother just never bothered to have the guy fix it. 🤷♂️

Quick tune-up, maybe some new rubber on the rims, and you're all set. If it was me, I'd upgrade the winch cables to synthetic at some point too.

Many years ago a local used car dealer had a similar '72 or '73 like that but not four wheel drive, last time I remember seeing it a local salvage yard had it,on the doors it said Super Binder, another fellow from back home had a '68 1200 that he converted to 1 ton and built a wrecker bed on it but I don't think he ever got all the bugs out of it.

I like your story telling. Great trucks. Will be watching more but hopefully less of my stories in future. You like the D series for work trucks, I have some D-150 200 500 but my "Tonka toys" I call them are an L-205 semi tractor, couple of R-185 Firetrucks, R-192 grain truck, and a parts tractor, RF-194 gravel dump, concrete mixer and a tow truck that was custom built to extricate concrete mixers. The tow truck boom extends to 42 foot reach and is capable of lifting the entire truck or tractor that I want to move from point a to point b. I also use it to move steel grain bins. I use that one average 4 times a week whereas the others a few times a year but I love to have them to be able to do stuff myself. Makes work fun.
