The posture, the smile, the open attitude, excellent sense of style....He puts a little bit of care and work into what he wants to put out into the world and it all comes back to him. Hey guys! All this info goes for married guys, too! I've been watching John for quite awhile, picking up good ideas here and there and putting them into practice. I probably have been doing most of what John talks about most of my life and it works. I (66) have been married for 41 years and my wife still gets "more attentive" when I dress up. We live in Florida, of course, and my daily apparel is generally shorts and a T-shirt so anything beyond that is dressing better. Example: Throwing on a polo shirt with shoes instead of sandals and a t-shirt sets a whole new atmosphere for the evening. Perhaps a better example is this one. So, we are getting ready to do a cruise and therefore trying on clothes before we go was a necessity. I just had jeans and a t-shirt on (one of the colder days this winter), but when I slipped on the suit jacket for size my wife had a facial expression that matched her bedroom eyes. She verbally said she liked it and it was obvious. Yup, it's going to be a good cruise. After all the trouble that women go through to catch our eye why not return the favor. That worked so well, I tried on all the jackets. The next day I took them all to be dry-cleaned for future endeavors. First date, last date, only date or a lifetime date the women will always appreciate and brag to others about how good you look when well dressed and groomed. Thanks John for the constant reminder that a little effort goes a long ways.

"Willing to do something beyond the bare minimum". Well said John! That statement reinforces a point you've made all along the way. Whether we're going to the Opera, or a Demolition Derby, a little attention to details can make all the difference. I've been mostly retired for a couple years, but drive a hotel/airport shuttle one or two days a week. I put the same amount of effort into being showered, clean shaven, clean clothes, and shined shoes regardless if I'm going on a date, or going to work. The general manager of the hotel even complimented me about my steel toed boots being clean and shined. Lastly, the one item that will enhance any outfit is wearing a smile. It makes people in general much more approachable...and they wonder what you've been up to. 😉 Thanks John!

The slouching thing is something I am CONSTANTLY working on. I was a chef for years and at the time weighed about 140kg (308 pounds) so would walk with a slouch/hunched over to hide some of that weight. Now that I have lost about 50 kgs (110 pounds) I have no need to walk slouched. The trouble is it was such a defined habit for about 10 years, it's taking me a lot of focused effort to not walk that way. It's amazing how different I feel internally walking straight than when I walk slouched!

Absolutely! You can't be lazy and expect women to come to you or welcome you. I have witnessed good looking guys get ignored and watched average guys succeed because of what you just put down, John. In my most recent experiences, I was out on NYE and was not dressed to be at a club I ended up at-I was wearing a hockey fan jersey/hoodie. Ended up by the band and two younger, very attractive women nudged me to start dancing. Nothing more resulted, for reasons I won't go into, but being able to hang loose, stay confident, and go with the flow matters. Second instance-I purchased a great pair of casual, lace up boots and happened to be wearing them at my local brewpub with my good jeans and a fleece pullover, dark brown. I was sitting with friends and noticed two women passed by, who were having a girls night dinner, and they took the time to check me out-first thing they noticed? The boots. And they kept looking my direction for the duration of their stay. Point being, women do notice when you make an effort and it does pay dividends. Thanks for posting your solid advice!

You're completely on point in this video. So many guys I know say they don't care what people think about their appearance, they "have to be themselves" or become apathetic about their grooming. Perception is reality. The other point you made about self-awareness and self-confidence is huge. Meeting available women after college has been a challenge for me; seems they're all married or in relationships. I'm 32 and never been married nor do I have kids and boy is it tough to find girls my age that fit into that demographic.But I'm still trying! Thanks for the tips buddy!

Great tips, and points; but it seems it still all boils down to basically accepting whichever woman chooses you; NOT whichever woman YOU want, or desire. (Unless of course SHE also "wants" you.) The woman still has the final say. So a man could do every possible thing you mention or suggest, become the epitome of the ideal male specimen, but if the woman of his desire doesn't find him to her liking, all that hard work and effort will mean diddly squat. Personally I love working out, have lost nearly 200 lbs, vastly improved my grooming, skincare, wardrobe, confidence. Upped my scent game, etc; but have not noticed any change in how women react toward me, nor that they even notice me, or give me even a FIRST look; let alone a second look. (Especially YOUNGER women). I'm not going to stop trying to improve and better myself, but it does get frustrating.
@40OverFashion Жыл бұрын
Jason, it is not all for nothing! You also get to choose. You keep working on you, and I promise you, you will have enough to choose from.
@jasonhurst8599 Жыл бұрын
@40 Over Fashion Oh I'll never stop working on trying to improve myself, and be the best I can be; it just sucks when I know I've met Thee "ONE", and will never stop loving, and being in love with her. Not saying I've stopped looking, or will ever stop, but I do know they will never BE her. (The good AND the bad (or not so good.). Which I think too many people these days overthink, over analyze, and especially over critique as it seems people WANT perfection. Even though they're far from perfect themselves. But maybe one day Hell will freeze over and all my work and effort will pay off. (Hopefully while I am still able to enjoy it. 😂)
@karlr750 Жыл бұрын
@@jasonhurst8599 You are correct. If I want or desire a woman, I am *not* going to end up with her unless she also chooses me. Similarly, if a woman wants and desires me, and I don't feel like choosing her, she's out of luck. Dating is *very equal* that way. In addition, you haven't met "the one." If she was "the one," she would want to be with you. You've let yourself become (and remain) infatuated with a woman who can't, doesn't, or won't feel the same way about you. That's going to cramp your style when you try to date *any* other woman. Would you want to date a woman who was permanently infatuated with some other guy? Dating is frustrating (for everyone). It was a lot more frustrating when I was pursuing women who *weren't* interested in me, rather than the ones who were. I didn't have to accept whichever woman was interested in me. (I didn't accept most of them.) I chose the *best woman* who was interested in me.
