40th What drew you to the contemplative path?

Thank God for Fr Richard. We need wise men and women to take us there as he said and he and others like him are a rock of reassurance and help in what is a hard journey

Contemplating as undefended knowing-wow! After years of trying to practice contemplation and worrying about "being right" (there's that ego again! now I can try practicing as God calls me rather than worrying if I have the "right stuff" with me! I so appreciate the wisdom of Fr Rohr!

COME ON! THE reason for any journey in the religious life is "The Love for Jesus God Almighty." He draws us because He loves us and will bring us to a greater insight into His love for us, and our love for Him. Some folks like to do this out in the desert-real or constructed-and find Him there. Others do, and love, the "worldly" way, out where the majority of human beings live and die. The most contemplative moment in a Catholic life is when we are joined to Jesus in Holy Communion, Person to person.
