Everyone complaining about the 420 , re-watch the first part of the video. He explains everything. 420 motor just worked best for this project. It's a hunk of junk ATV that was used and abused, taken apart and most parts missing. To restore the quad would cost way more than it's worth. What they do is find cheap not running recreational vehicles and get them running anyway possible for the cheapest possible and have a blast with them. Just enjoy the awesome content they make. There are plenty of restoration channels out there for that kind of content. They always make a point to comment in the beginning of their videos if what their doing isnt majority wanted, about why they aren't doing it that way.

@@TUGG75 that's the point. Its ment to be a yard kart of sorts. They probably paid no more than $200 for it. The 420 on the murrey is still goin and its stock. i've seized up a few small engines over the years and have found that putting a high torque load on a new engine scuffs up the crank bearings and the cylinder walls... what has worked for me is to test-run any new or newly overhauled engine by running a full tank of gas through it running at 3000-4000rpm with no load or anything connected to the crankshaft, then change the oil. after an initial run you can then load it as much as you want. even when i buy something new like a lawnmower or pressure washer, i unbolt the pump or the blade and run the engine in.

MESSAGE TO THOSE THAT HATE : I first subscribed to this channel over a year ago. I unsubscribed because I was slightly annoyed with the mini monster truck build and some of the comments that were shared. I thought these guys were being narrow minded and cheap. I just re-subbed because I realized it was me who was wrong. These guys work hard to put these builds together, they are making things you could do in your own garage. Rebuilding ATV motors and transmissions is not for the faint of heart. It takes a lot more mechanical ability, time and money. You ever try and part out a carburetor on a 2001 Arctic Cat 250 that you already jetted? Maybe you had to rebuild the live transfer in a Polaris Scrambler 500 or had to replace the jack shaft on a Yamaha Big Wheel? Hydro locked Warrior 350? Honda Odyssey built by a tech school with 4 wheel drive, true independent suspension, the electrical system off a lawnmower and a Hayabusa/ Ski-Doo drive train? Point is, those are serious issues that take a lot of experience to fix. It is frustrating, expensive and haphazard at best if you don't end up replacing a weird gasket, seal, grommet, bearing or bushing that has to be special ordered and flown in from China, Japan, Korea or India. These boys are doing "just fine" at creating honest content, they can do anything that has to do with motors, it just wouldn't provide the same value as what they intend to.

*CarsandCameras* Keep your eye out for an old late 80's/early 90's Polaris Trail Boss 250cc 2 smoker, I have one and they make almost 30hp!!! Already saw 4 of them on Craigslist since I got mine. Excellent videos!

Great job guys! should work really well with the proper belt. Stage two engine should really make it work well.

Hey guys. How about a Mud-Skipper Longtail Mud Motor build for Tank Boat? Mud-Skipper is a bolt-on kit for Predator engines. They start at $295. There are multiple props available to tune for speeds. You can get up to 22mph on water from a stock 212cc. I wonder what a stage 2, 420 would do? You could drag race minibikes at Busco Beach in a boat.

It likely doesn't need a full overhaul though. A starter and a cdi box would likely be all you need.

Can y’all see if y’all can put the plastics back on it if they’ll fit. It would look so much better. But it turned out a lot better than I thought.
