Great video Coach! We play your 4-2-5... Keeping simplicity in mind and facing a 2 back, no TE look, what would you prefer to do in order to get that 7th the defender in the box? Thanks!

Man the twins side and play the Nickel tighter to the box

The struggle to educate my players to set the 3 tech correctly is one of the many reasons why I prefer the tight front. 4i's to both sides filling both b gaps handle a lot of the rpo's you'll see too. Coach, I know you experimented with playing a base 3-4 double 4i look last year before moving to your 3-3 stack. What were the problems you had with your experiment and how were they solved by the stack? Appreciate any comments you can provide.

The stack just simplifies a lot of things for us. Instead of teaching multiple fronts we stay with the Stack and then move into the fronts we want post snap. Our run fits have been cleaner and more consistent.

Coach, a few questions: 1) How would you handle setting the front against a 3x1 shotgun set that puts the back to the same side as the trips? That's probably way less common than back away from trips, but still, it can be used. 2) How do you handle setting the front against pistol sets, especially 2x2 and 3x1? Is that just a gameplan thing?

We set the front to the trips side my last year in the 425, easier for our kids at that time. Pistol 2x2 was field or left since most teams were predominantly right hand oriented in their play calls based on experience. I made setting the front as easy as possible so i knew we would get lined up.

Coach, what is your advice on a inexperienced/undersized line/team? What type of offense/defense would you run? I do have speed.
@CoachMac5 жыл бұрын
I would say Wing T on Offense and Odd Fronts on defense utilizing more LB/DB types.

I had plan to run a 50 defense, which video of yours do you recommend I watch for reference to the odd fronts?

Setting the 3tech to the trips side and putting the bndry safety in conflict doesn't concern you more? I would Rather give up a 4-6yd stick route and rally than give up a glance route backside... jmo though!
@CoachMac5 жыл бұрын
That depends on your Trips checks and what you do with your backside safety. Our first check is going to leave the WS to the single side so where the 3 Tech is becomes more about fall in gaps. I do not like getting beat by the single receiver.

@@CoachMac gotcha! Its why I personally dont like playing 2hi especially vs 3x1... always feel like you have to "steal" gaps somewhere!

My thought is play Under versus trips..Special to trips..Gameplan backside ×

Hey coach you almost lost me at the beginning of the video. Get your business out there but that was a long spill you had going there.
