@@Joshcheyka The Cammer is a Hemi. In fact, when Dodge saw the cover of Janurary 1965 edition of HotRod magazine and saw that Ford built a SOHC Hemi engine in 90 days ...and then discovered it made 66o Hp. on a single 4 barrel carb, ..Dodge shit themselves, because they knew the cammer would find a home in a Galaxie at Daytona so, Dodge started developing their own SOHC Hemi. NASCAR ended up banning all Hemi's from competition and that's why Ford built the Boss 429.

Yup. Gm and mopar were scared shitless of fords cammer, they knew if they went up against it they would lose every race so instead of going high they took the gutter and whined like little bitches, same thing happened when Ford introduced the 351 C 4V. Bob Glidden was wiping the floor with Chevy and mopar every week and nascar unfairly made Glidden add weight to his car trying to slow it down but Gliddens crew found even better ways to make more hp and Keep Glidden at the front of the pack for DECADES.

657 stock horsepower in the 60’s sounds absolutely nuts. The only “stock” 60’s engine that could match or exceed that is a Super Snake, but that had twin superchargers and they didn’t even make 5 of them, so it’s a long ways from really being stock.

I miss the days of large bore engines. Now the engines are all “ strokers” to get the displacement. Not knocking them but it just isn’t the same. The 427 small black Ford sells isn’t anything like the 427FE and it’s huge bore and shorter stroke. The small block is just a 4.030 bore with a huge stroke

I had an opportunity in '82 to purchase one of these engines. The engine was sitting in the back seat of a '63 Galaxy 500. The seat cushion was missing and the engine was sitting on the bare floorboard. The tri-power intake complete with carbs and oval, aluminum air cleaner were in the trunk. It was at a junkyard just east of Jamestown, South Carolina. $1500 was the going price. I didn't have the cash and no means to obtain the money. I was 18 years young. But my '69 Sportsroof Mustang with a well built 302 was mighty fine.

@@71sc502 😉 I was joking. I used to be more "partisan" when it came to brand loyalty, but that was back in the 80s when there were still enough late 60s to early 70s American cars on the road that I could afford to be picky. Honestly, from 1984-90 when I started driving and became interested in muscle cars, there were A LOT of Chevys! It was mostly 68-74 Novas and 68-72 Chevelles! Those Chevys were so numerous, that even though I lived in a somewhat rural area, I could still point to 8 Novas and 7 Chevelles that were owned by people I knew! But Fords on the other hand, were much less common. There were still 1965-73 Mustangs around, but not as many. In fact, there were only 2 of us Ford purists, making us outnumbered by Mopar eficianados by 2-1, and Chevy fans outnumbered us 3 or 4-1. That "underdog" aspect partially explains why I chose Ford over other brands. But nowadays you don't see many 1960s and early 70s cars on the road, which means you can't afford to be too picky about brands.

Perfect way to ruin an engine Detune it. Unbelievable. You should settle down and take up electric cars. Your ack of knowledge if you think you need to detune it to make it more streetable. These engines are quite streetable in american cars running on 91 pump gas making over 800 hp. Suggest you google JON KAASE ENGINES. You don;t deserve that masterpiece

@@SealofPerfection Still false, Pacfan. Though not "mass produced" nor sold "retail" thru FoMoCo franchised dealers, Ford did indeed produce 427 SOHC Galaxies... as evidenced here: img-hmn-com.cdn.ampproject.org/ii/w820/s/img.hmn.com/400x300/stories/2009/07/gordo-1.jpg

@@johnjohnsn7633 It's NOT false. I said "Not a single car was sold with a cammer in it. It was over the counter only" And that is 100% TRUE. "produced" means "They made them and sold them" Experimental units that were never sold to ANYONE don't count. So I was dead-on, right.

Excuses excuses excuses.....as I never see very many Ford dudes with this damn engine. Who cares how it does when you never see them anywhere. Their horsepower was BIG in the 60's. It is a nothing engine today with MOPAR GEN 2 HEMI's blowing a HOLE in the atmosphere today with 900 horsepower. To much BS about an engine made for 5 minutes.

Greg Silveira....Man, are all Mexicans so rude and cruel like you Greg. Did you eat a burnt Taco...or a Bad Burrito to go off on my personal life just to prove some lame ass point about your worship of FORD? Henry Ford was not your daddy, because you are Mexican. You know....the idiots that sneak into the USA illegally because their country is pure crap run by the dirtiest government on earth. A nation of murderers and thieves. You went to the trouble of looking into my profile just to assassinate my character. Well.....yes...I came here to L.A. with hopes to make money. I got hired at the biggest MOPAR performance company starting at $80,000 a year with prospects of running the West Coast office. So, I am doing great...and you are still a loser Be*ner attacking a white man. What makes idiots like you attack my opinion just because your daddy tried to build a Ford some years back. My "GREAT GRAND DADDY" shot at your "Great Grand Daddy" when the USA & Mexico went to war for 5 minutes man. My dad said to me when I was 3 years old....."Tyrone, keep your eyes open when you become a man because Mexicans will try & stab you in the back for $2 bucks in the future". Watch out for Hateful, nosey, interfering, meddling, Mexicans when you grow up in this world. Hey Greg.....why don't you shut the hell up jerk off. Mind your own business...as I didn't bother you. I have my opinion.....you keep yours.....jerk......
