Another thing, people seem to forget it has been little over a month since he lost everyone he ever cared about (kids,Brendan,Chez, Amy) and people want him to get over and be "nice and polite". Honestly, I have lost people I loved in my life and it took me A LOT MORE than 1 month to get over. Real grieve can bring severe consequences people (violent behavior, depression, addictions, suicide thoughts).Someone with stability can overcome it, but Ste has none!

he's only saying what he feels, for once Hollyoaks isn't giving a character multiple personality disorder, Ste is acting like who he was when he first came to Oaks he's not Brendan. He's just coping the was that Ste Hay copes. I think you guys really need to understand that Ste isn't intentionally trying to hurt Doug he's just trying to survive the only way he was taught the only way he knows how.

Yes, I remember the old Ste quite well, but he worked hard to shed the anger that once controlled him. And Ste was not 'bad', any more than Brendan was 'bad'. They were both injured souls who handled their pain badly. Brendan was on the way to recovery too if fate hadn't stepped in and destroyed his chances. When I say that Ste wants to become Brendan, I'm not just referring to anger issues, but also the need for control...thus owning Chez Chez by himself and being boss.

This makes me very sad. Ste only wants Chez Chez for one reason and it isn't to make it a success to honor Brendan. If he can't have Brendan in person, he wants to literally become Brendan. But what makes me sad is that Brendan would be appalled by that. Brendan didn't really like who he was. He sure as hell wouldn't want to Ste to become like him.

Why has Ste become such a jerk. The people who treat him good he treats like dirt. And the man who treated him like dirt (Brendan) he can't get out of his system. I feel so sorry for Doug. He lost his husband to Brendan, Ste ran off to Brendan's arms while he was still married to Doug. And yet Doug can turn around and be a good friend to Ste and yet Ste treats him like crap.

This is actually right in character for Ste. He was impulsive and angry when he first came on the show. He could also be really mean and lashed out at people alot. He had come a long way from what he was even when he had first met Brendan. This is just him backsliding because of grief. Unfortunately Doug never met the old Ste so for him this is coming out of nowhere. The way Ste used to be is one of the reasons that JP doesn't really like him.

I agree with you completely. I think Ste is only acting this way because he does feel completely abandoned and out of control. He couldn't keep any of the people he loves most in his life. They are all gone (which actually only emphasizes the fact that he cared about Doug but was never really 'in love' with him) and he is desperate to get back some of that control...exactly the way that Brendan always had to be in control. It's a defense mechanism when you feel like you have no real control.

But now it feels like Brendan was the worst thing to come into his life if he reverts back to he once was. It's kinda tarnishing Stendan, at least he became his own boss because of that situation. Did the situation with Amy not teach him that who he used be was not the best version himself. Patrick takes Ste off the hook for Kevin's disappearance. Ste & Doug totally break up-better for both of them! Doug may someday reflect on the futility of pushing someone who's still grieving. But it was only futile in getting him to do what Doug wanted. It actually seems to have helped Ste move on to what he wants to do. Progress all around, except for Kevin, who I assume is dead, and not if Doug's "playing with the big boys" means a life of crime. Momentous episode. Thanks for the fast upload!
