We had a boat on ther canal's when i was younger back in the 70's and remember it as some of the most idylic day's of my life, and a friend is talking about retiring on a narrow boat when he reaches the gae. I've often thought about security, especially now we have a lot of people living rough, camping in fields etc, as boats are not the most secure of things as well as being mored alone often. It's a shame when something like that happens, makes me feel a part of British life is under threat. Love the content. ✌✌👍👍👏👏

O Boy did this bring back some lovely memories. The last canal holiday we had some 3 years ago was from Trevor to Grindley Brook and back. Because we lost our domestic alternator and the domestic batteries went flat, we had to spend a day in Whixall Marina while the alternator was replaced. What a lovely place that is, a lovely café so we were able to have nice meals and the people were so friendly. We were so sorry to see the end of that week. Thanks again for the lovely reminders of that wonderful holiday, and, like you, the Llangollen canal is my favourite, especially the section from Grindley Brook to Llangollen.

Hi guys, great video as always. How are you finding the canal as we are on the shropshire and was going to bypass Llangollen and return in winter as a lot of people have said its too busy this time of year. Would you agree with this?😊
@thenarrowboatgoodlife6 ай бұрын
Hiya both, we're just coming off the Llangollen this week and it's been so busy however it's not really caused any problems we just planned around it, so moved really early at the key spots and moored up by about 11am when the hire boats are generally still moving. Especially down near Llangollen where about 20 hire boat passed us in one day 😂. However we would do May again just maybe not as you get into June. If you're near the top of the shroppie (Nantwich/Audlem) next week or so let us know and be good to meet for a beer or two. PS great vlogs also! 👍🏻🍻

@@thenarrowboatgoodlife thank you so much for getting back to me, think we will leave it as we had initially planned then and do it in Autumn. We are currently waiting for tyrley locks to open and then will be pooling toward Audlem. We shall look out for you for sure. Thanks for watching our vlogs too. Happy cruising and hope to see you and go for that drink one day 😊

Why cant you moor in the middle of the canal at night when nobody is moving? keeps you safe. and Moor at the side bank during the day.
@thenarrowboatgoodlife24 күн бұрын
You can’t moor in the middle, nothing to secure your boat, and boats move at all times of day and night! Would be classed as a navigational hazard. Couldn’t let the dogs off either! 👍
