Always bring a extra guy who is sober not an asshole to help out, who is a friend of the band, I tried this and it was a major help driving home, packing up, looking after gear.

I enjoy your videos. This one is by far the best and should be watched by every member of every band. I've played in bands for over 10 years in years gone by and wished I'd known all this back then. Keep on keeping on.

1 of the first things I learned about is difference of venue. Just because you're in metal band doesn't mean you cant take wedding/birthday gigs to make a couple of bucks. The whole artist vs show man thing is silly. Also note, those cheap stock ceramic pickups are pretty suitable for weddings and the like. Blazing on '81 '85s during your rendition of butterfly kisses and rod Stewart's forever young is completely unfitting. Most of these personal affairs just want you in the background.

scott , thank you for that band advice. ott to be a checklist for bands That want to get ahead. i sure could have used that advice back in 1965. our rhythm guitarist's brother was a member of the 'sand pipers' and the band did have some one to guide us(me the roadie). very sound advice scott.

Thanks Scott. Good stuff and I definately learned a few things. I would love to hear your view about other visiting musicians wanting to come on stage for a few songs. Not a very comforting feeling in our case, but we did ok. Just how would you deal with it? Keep doing what you do...

@@Southernguitar74 Sorry, nope. The Groove Gypsies are their own thing, but we play in virtually the same circles. I can't tell you how many times, club owners and patrons will confuse our name with The Cosmic Gypsies over the years. They are a great band and I saw them once probably 7 or 8 years ago and they were killing it in a tiny club we were also booked there on a later date, in Alpharetta. You'd normally find us at TC Rose in Carrollton. The CInemaTavern, or The old sport Cafe, in Villa Rica. I retired from the band about a month ago due to my health, but the guys, and gals are still out there killing it. Theres also lots of video evidence here on KZbin. Look on 1Dabirdman channel or Thegroovegypsies channel for newer stuff, video press kit stuf. Thanks. West GA. Born n bred.
