Hey Scott... hope you're doing well. I've been away from your channel against my will for over a decade and all of a sudden this one popped up on my feed. I used to love your guitar reviews and the rundowns on your collection. Same for this one, but man, you have seriously trimmed the numbers down. Back before I had to stop watching you had added the Buddy Guy Stratocaster and a Peavy T-60 to your collection. I'm glad to see the Buddy Guy still there. I think that one won a blindfold shootout if I'm not mistaken. I had one in Dakota Red at the time and I think it was the sweetest strat I ever played. I was surprised you didn't still have the T-60. You were really stoked when you got it. Okay, I'll stop yakking. Glad to see you're still around and doing the KZbin thing. Take care, brother!

Thanx Scott. Your collections always seem to give me ideas. I don't collect now. I sold most my gear more than decades ago to stay off the road. I kept the guitar my mom gave me in 1980(the Paul), my wife's aunts 1959 Custom Kraft electric(Harmony), a 12string Yamaha(broken truss rod)for OpenC#unison and a $74Glarry(sounds,plays good). I only play at fish fries, nursing homes,church etc.They were all players and I miss Two or Four but I've never had to work or play unless I wanted to. I still get to play for making music reasons, the real reasons like bringing people together in step to feel and be human. Sorry for dumping, just making a drawn out point.

I must say I have learned a lot from your youtubes over the years. Learned a lot about different guitars from your efforts. I even bought a guitar from you once. It was the black refinished Washburn Force 3. That is a very nice sounding and playing guitar. I had some Evo Gold medium jumbo frets installed on it and now it plays a little more easily. One of my favorites. Have you ever owned a Palir guitar? I have one that is called the Imperial. Most of his are tele copies called the Titan. The Imperial is a jazzmaster copy. It has the Mastery bridge and whammy tail piece assembly. Jason Lollar PUPS...... better than most Jazzmasters you can find. Best of luck to you. Stay healthy and play a lot. May you always have wood....... ha ha...... tone or otherwise........ Take care

Hey Scott, may I ask your opinion on a guitar's value?? I recently purchased a Fender MIJ E series 1986 Stratocaster in 3-tone sunburst, SSS w/the system 1 tremolo and locking nut made by Schaller with original hardshell case, and aside from a small nick in the bottom horn, this guitar + the case is dead mint! The guitar looks 2 years old, no joke. No tarnishing, no fading, no fret wear, no mods, nothing, all original....it's like it was barely even touched, and I paid $690 for it. Do you think that was a good deal??? I'm sure you get asked this kind of crap a lot, but you know guitars inside and out, and know what's good and what's crap. Love your videos and I appreciate all you do, take care my friend!
@groovydjs4 жыл бұрын
Hey there Randy. The nasty ones fetch around $600 and they go up from there to around $1,100. I love those axes. The majority of them were called the CONTEMPORARY Stratocasters. '86 was the last year before the USA plant opened up in Carona, CA. So, the Japanese really had the Fender axes down to a science for sure. My #1 axe is my '85/'86 Pink Paisley Strat from Japan. That puppy has seen the world and nearly a dozen total refrets. They just made the perfect axe (for me at least) and I've had quite a few of the Contemporary Strats as well. Pure quality and I really hope you are enjoying it.

@@groovydjs Thanks a lot Scott for the input! I really am enjoying it. My father had the same exact guitar that he purchased new back in 86' but his was Olympic white, and he gave that guitar to me as my first guitar, so getting this one was kind of a nostalgic thing. I kind of wish it was white also, but the style, playability, sound, and the case is identical so it's close enough. It's like they say "you can't ride yesterday's train" lol, but it's a sweet guitar!
