In 1988 our best crop was about 5 bu/ acre. We feel your pain. Droughts are part of farming and nothing new but it’s definitely painful. 🙏

The Honey Bee header looks like a must have once it fits into your budget. Here in Ohio we only use flex headers for harvesting soybeans. We have rocks similar to your conditions and find the flex headers a must have. Because of our higher traffic conditions we carry our headers on J and M steerable carts. They are perfect to maneuver through towns and also the narrow country roads. We also use a CaseIH combine (7250) equipped with an 18row (20 inch) corn head and a 35ft. Flex Draper. We also put in some long hours and harvest a little over 3000 acres with one machine. I appreciate your videos and it helps me to keep connected to the farm since I retired. I operate the combine and help moving equipment around when I can but just can’t take the long hours at 81.

I like the way the dolly attaches to the header. It can be a single person operation

Its sad seeing all your hard work your determination just go to crap. I grew up on a farm not row crop but a contract grower for Tyson we had many trials tribulations and too many fianancial hardships to mention and like Tony and the walkers. Its hard to put on a happy face and tell the world everything is ok. People watch the videos and think it's a worry free glamorous lifestyle. Farming is a honest living not for the weak or faint of heart but a honest living my heart goes out to the American farmer and thier families I know we wouldn't be able to survive without you. Thank you brother.

hey colin i wish i had a picture of the auger system we built. we turned the axles on the augers 90 degrees to the auger, and put a 6 inch rim on the end where the hoper goes. taking off the tires we set the rims on two legths of rail road rails. and put a hitch on the auger to pull it from the side alined to the PTO shaft. we never unhooked the tractor on the auger. where ever the spout dropped into a bin there was a ground out divit in the rails so as you backed up or pulled ahead the weels dropped in them and told you the spout was in the hole up on the bins. it worked so slick the grain truck driver could move from bin to bin with out any effort. giggles took longest to start the old W6 international tractor with the crank than any part of it. it had no ellect start. but was a good auger tractor. and loading trucks the openings were on opposite side. and it worked well cause no tracks to hop over.

In 1976 we had a severe drought in our area. I did have some 40 bushel wheat, but 20 was the norm. In the fall we harvested some corn acres but a lot of the acres were zeroed out with an estimated yield of 3 bushels per acre. We are extremely dry here this year in SW Minnesota also

Sorry to hear about the insurance write-off this year. Sucks to have that time and money in and get nothing out. Thanks for showing the Honey Bee demo. Seen some of their stuff around here (Texas) for some specialty crops, but not what they offer in the more "conventional" side. They seem like they have some features that might fit your operations well.

That header is a gift from God for this year’s crop being so low to the ground. I’m amazed by the advancements in Ag equipment. They’re always striving for less physical work for the farmer, but capturing more yield.

do you have to worry about the reel teeth getting into the cuterbar like the auger headers and then the reel cant reach short crop? also is the head offset or centered for the unload auger?
