A unique and quirky device, and quite appealing. For stage, though: Does the screen go brighter? And those patch names are small and low contrast - black on dull blue; this can't be easy to read without bending and peering.

I'd like to hear more bread-and-butter sounds. All demos show those over the top sounds... For example: Show, how flexible the modulated delays are. Can I build a preset that replicates a SDD-3000 or the 2290?
@ponderersounds31724 жыл бұрын
In theory you can, the sounds are built of many little bits so it comes down to your ear and tuning the filters and gain to taste to create the sound you want.

Hello, thanks for the review, towards the end of the clip you mention/achieve some pad type accompaniment to the guitar riff. I've been looking for a pedal/synth for bass guitar, to provide textures or activate arpeggios along with the bass lines. I don't have enough need t to get a keys player, do you think this pedal would fit? I get that you've probably not spent months and months with this thing, but any reply within the context of your use would be greatly appreciated!! Cheers, Dwayne.

Hey there thanks for watching! I think it would be possible to do what you want with the Beebo, but being transparent I found it fun to work with for the demo but really didn’t find myself coming back to it after that. I think it’s one of those pieces that will either suit you or it won’t and you can’t really tell without diving in and using one.

I have a question about reverb. I don't see a list on their site or in a manual of the types of reverb. Does it work like you load a reverb algorithm then add more modules to go as crazy as I want? Between the digit and beebo, do they both go big with reverbs or does one have more algorithms then the other. But I know each unit can switch between the firmware. Thanks
@ponderersounds31724 жыл бұрын
There’s a huge list of convolution reverbs you can load in the reverb module on Digit, Beebo just has a few in comparison but the few it has are very flexible and in no way limiting. Of course you can add more modules to further shape the verb in either firmware. If you’re after a huge reverb palate though you’ll probably spend most you’re time in Digit.

Those are the three buying options on Poly's site, each at $399, and if Beebo can Digit then why the others and NOT Beebo? Thanks!
@ponderersounds31724 жыл бұрын
Really all you do is choose the colour you want, they’re all the same. As far as swapping there is a little cog icon for settings in the bottom right, tap that and then tap ‘change to Digit’ and you’re done. I just didn’t do that in the demo as it cuts audio and I felt like being artsy 🙃

Not specifically but you can build them, using a hpf and lpf in parallel and adding a random lfo to pitch on either side would create something akin to those. All the building blocks are there, you just have to learn their application and get creative.

I found the interface of Zoia to be pretty overwhelming/unintuitive. I know people love it, and it's a great pedal, etc., etc. That was only my impression. I guess I'm wondering if you think there might be a group (perhaps those of us who are considered more "plug-n-play" people) that might be able to work with this interface a little easier than Zoia's. Can anyone compare the two pedals' ease of use in terms of creating patches? (I know it's all subjective, but I'd appreciate any input.) Thanks, everyone.
@ponderersounds31724 жыл бұрын
I haven’t owned a Zoia but when I have messed around with one I found it pretty easy, even for complicated stuff. The Poly feels very similar to be honest with the exception of being able to read what you’ve done. I think Poly maybe takes slightly longer to connect things up, Zoia you kind of develop some muscle memory for connecting parts of modules. I think if you understand the basics of each module you’ll find it easy to use though, it’s a pretty nice sized screen.
@jamisonlee96114 жыл бұрын
@@ponderersounds3172 Thanks. Yeah, the addition of the screen feels like a huge difference to me. (To be fair, I spent very little time with the Zoia before I decided it wasn't ideal for my workflow.)
@JamesReedy4 жыл бұрын
@@jamisonlee9611 the issue with Zoia (I have one) it's a lot harder to back out what's going on in someone else's patches. It's not that you can't but if it's a complex patch it's not nearly as intuitive as this looks to be. You also get Beebo and Digit in the same box, he's ported a bunch of modular synth modules from Mutable Instruments, for instance you get Plaits, Clouds etc. You're getting many times the price of the unit alone in modular synth units. Yeah there's no direct CV in's like you have on the modular but you could get a CV to midi converter to fix that...

@ponderersounds3172 Жыл бұрын
I think it does amazing things but the interface isn’t for everyone, it’s very ‘audio design’ orientated and I think a lot of people want something more instantly gratifying. I’ve seen lots of synth guys housing this as a desk top piece.
