I am by no means rich, and wouldn't even want to be cause of my beliefs, not gonna talk about that right now but either way no, that was not what I was trying to say. I'm just saying that in general, 999 $ isn't that much considering most people spend at least that on a tv, some people spend well over 3k to a tv. While some may argue that tv will be used way more than a monitor, that is not the case for everyone. I rarely watch tv, and most of the time definitely goes on my pc. So I would say a 1k for a monitor that will last you at least 5 years isn't that big of a deal.

@@PahEz Worth it but still paying a premium. My price range is around 700 tops. The lower end oleds 240hz are in that range but 360 and 480 is that much better. What most of them dont have is dp 2.1 or hdmi 2.1 and use dsc. Its only a matter of waiting a year or two until theyre no longer premium or black friday\holiday sale.

I will stop caring about fps when I stop noticing the improvement when I get more. 110fps to 165fps was absolutely noticeable, 165 to 240fp may not be, I might need to go to 360fps to notice another gain in fluidity for example.

but what about the AAA games? lets say games like cyberpunk, hunt showdown, ghost of tsushima with 70-90fps and on this 480hz monitor, will it be still smooth or choppy? if you have any AAA games installed, could you please test it out for me? disable DLSS, frame gen and go all Ultra to force the game to have 70-80fps, basically below 100fps and please tell me if its smooth or choppy experience

Without G-Sync/Free-Sync on it wont be so smooth experience at below 100fps, wouldnt recommend it for AAA games.

With my current setup this monitor is worth every penny. I dont get a difference almost if i set down the settings on cs2 which is the only game Im playing. All maxed out i get pretty much anything from 450-500+ fps.

wont buy an oled when you have roughly 1 k hours of use before starting to have some form of degradation (burn in , image retention , etc...) especially when they are so expensive , at that price point you'd expect a monitor to last 5-6 years at a bare minimum lol

I just bought the 32" ROG Swift PG32UCDP coming from an ASUS uhd lcd/ips panel...the picture is really nice and crisp but for $1,300 it is not worth it...these monitors are for hardcore gamers or people who have money to spend. Eventually OLEDs will get cheaper

The ASUS PG248QP is still the best monitor for competitive, if that is your main focus. I do like the idea of being able to sorta have the best of both worlds. I'd also consider one of the new dual mode 4k/240 hz and 480 hz/1080p.

I have an Asus PG248QP 540hz it has ulmb2 but I'm getting double imagining when I test it at 1920 frame per second most people are testing ulmb2 at 960 frame per second on blur busters which is not the best way to test ulmb2 and zero ghosting is better than little better motion clarity with double imagining.

Easily on e-sports games, unless there's a cpu/ram bottleneck. You don't always have to run super hyper max ultra settings. Usually after med-high settings the visual return for extra power used becomes significantly worse.

You can buy a 240Hz 1440p OLED right now for $550. Is that 480Hz worth double the price? I don't think so. Also, I'll never trust that dual mode feature. They have issues in some games. Some games refuse to work in the 24'' mode, sometimes the refresh rate refuses to reach 480Hz, sometimes adaptive sync doesn't work, It's a mess. I recently bought a 24'' 1440p 240Hz IPS. I'll keep using it until we start getting proper 24'' 1440p OLEDs.

I'm assuming ur talking about the 360hz qd-oled. If that's the case, the brightness superiority is limited to whites. qd-oled still has FAR brighter colors. I wouldn't sacrifice the superior pq for the bump in refresh rate. This monitor is still marginally a better gaming monitor.

Your wording is extremely misleading to customers, it goes to 265 nits in SDR, 450 nits can only be reached when uniform brightness mode is off and the content of the image is mostly black.

yea uniform brightness mode just limits the brightness to whatever the full screen brightness is capable of im pretty sure. I would never use it, even if SDR really isn't meant for anything over 200 nits.

This is incorrect. Full white screen brightness is very rare in real world usage, so the actual max scene brightness you can get is a lot higher, more than double the full screen nits. For example, Rtings tests real scene brightness. With mostly black screen the highlight could be around 1000 nits.

F that. The pq is way better on ur monitor, as it's qd-oled. I'm not a big fan of woled. Don't forget, color filters block 2/3 of the light. Other than white, qd-oled gets 3 times as bright.

QD OLED also loses a lot of brightness over time. Burn in is a joke. watch the test on the TV's. Eye strain is real and your first pair of glasses is coming soon. OLED stands for real black and not magenta shit. Let light into your life and don't lock yourself in a dark room

One thing on ELMB, it's good for games you can't get raw 500fps on but still want that smoothness. So run it at 240 or 120 and then you can get a similar feel to the raw 480hz with the ELMB boost

It won't feel similiar, with strobing your input latency will increase. Your motion clarity is good with strobing.
