I just checked the location on the map. Yeah the lil shed unfortunately stood in an isolated area. The shops around are just not near enough and possibly closed at that time. Dreadfully unsafe. But you Alaskan folks must be used to some pretty severe desolation if that coffee shop was bang in the centre for you 🙈

I used that coffee shop every week. I went by the day after she was kidnapped and was surprised to find it closed. Samantha served me many times. It was a popular coffee shop for employees working night shift at providence. The only reason it was isolated when she was kidnapped was there was this large snow berm obscuring it from the main road.

I saw this guy with the most vivid blue eyes and a hoodie sort of easing up on me. I thought surely he is going into the store. He passed me, I spoke to him and when I turned my back, he had hit me over the head and grabbed my purse. Honestly, I wish I could have screamed at Samantha that while he was trying to take her out of the coffee shop that she should have screamed and ran and allowed herself to get shot rather than taken to the second location. That man wanted her alive so he could torture her first. Also, there were lots of cars driving by and people that were walking by around that time and so chances are if she try to escape while at the coffee shop she would have had a much better chance of survival, or at the very least would have died more peacefully. Every time I see that footage I just want to shake her and say don't comply don't comply

No employer should ever let a female employee work alone, especially in a situation like this where nobody would have felt suspicious of someone stopping their car and going up to the kiosk. I know this is easy to say if you’re not in the situation… But I was always taught never, ever go to another location with someone without putting up a fight. My friend had sold a Mustang 20 years ago for 5K. He has a big bragging mouth, so a couple hours later some guys come into his yard and stuck him up with guns and say where's it at? He said where is what? And they said you know what I mean, let's go in the house. Lucky his friend saved him. But to the point is he said I wasn't going in the house. I rather get shot on my driveway where people can see and hear it, if I would have went in I would 100% would have died.

I worked about 1/2 mile from their home and was chased home (I worked evening shift..) I was doing 85 in a 35 mph zone and the car stayed on my heals.. it was the car bill and Lorraine drove that he kidnapped them with.. I was too afraid to pull in my driveway about 8-10 miles from my work because of this car.. I didn’t have a cell phone at the time and couldn’t call for help.. I drove in circles basically and eventually lost the car.. and went home.. I then alerted my boyfriend at the time. We had two big pit bulls.. but lived in a one story house with an attached garage.. we did have our dogs freak out later that night for some unknown reason and to this day my ex and I still believe he tried to abduct me.. This guy lived close to me, we lived in the same county in upstate NY. He robbed the bank in my hometown of Tupper Lake. I was walking my dogs in the woods behind the bank and there were helicopters flying over the top of me looking for him. At the time nobody knew who robbed the bank, we found out later it was him. I live in the Adirondack mountains and on trails often with my dog. The authorities said they believe there are dead bodies buried close by that he disposed of. I’m in the woods all the time and you never know who is passing by you. In hindsight it’s a scary thought this freak of nature was always close by. There were other banks robbed in the area also, probably was him.

So back in 2007 I was 18 and working 3rd shift as a front desk hotel clerk in Milan/Avery Ohio. About 10 mins from Sandusky. It was my second job I’ve ever had and my first night alone working after being trained for just 2 days. Around 3 AM this guy wearing dirty white shoes, blue jeans, a light jacket with hood and ski mask over entire face (all I could see was his eyes)…. He had what looked like a crowbar and a gun and demanded cash… then I was so stupid I started reading bible verses from this book that was in the lost and found and crying and talking about my baby at home… I kept going on about my child….he called me sweet baby and told me “oh baby I don’t want to have to hurt you”. My sweet baby. He started getting tears in his eyes and started to get mean and snappy, voice change to a deeper tone. I gave him the cash box (400$) and he left in a white minivan, he walked kind of funny. Not limping just very like awkward lanky fast steps. I don’t know for sure but looking at Israel Keyes eyes and listening to his voice… I think it was him… I’ll never forget those eyes… It’s never been solved- conveniently on my first night alone the cameras weren’t working. I didn’t even know how to call out on the phone so once I finally did it was 30 mins later… they actually made me take a lie detector test and computerized test to make sure I wasn’t lying… and here I was absolutely traumatized. My boss yelled at me for giving him the money… cops told me I did the right thing. I’m confident it was Israel keyes I have ptsd and I haven’t been able to work at a front desk, as a cashier.. in fear it’ll happen again.

Wikipedia: "Sometime during this period, Keyes renounced his former Christian faith.[18] On one occasion, Keyes declared his atheism to his parents-both of whom he had previously made tireless and constant efforts to please[17]-after an intense argument. This led his parents to evict their eldest son from their residence, shunning him for apparent blasphemy; they then instructed his younger siblings, who looked up to Keyes, to never have contact with him again.[18] Keyes then developed an inordinate interest in Satanism, with plans of committing a ritualistic murder.[9]

They kind of glossed over the whole, "There was a photo of Samantha with a ransom note left in the park after she went missing" part. He had killed her, and only quite some time later did he decide that he wanted to try and get some money from the situation. So he put makeup on her and staged the lighting, etc. to take a photo that could somewhat plausibly make it seem like she was still alive... 🤢He was one of the most meticulous and coldhearted serial killers ever, I really don't know why he's not just as famous as killers like Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer.

there's a true crime channel on youtube that has many of the actual police interrogations/interviews with Keyes. Scary dude! Also, the couple in VT, you notice Keyes simply broke out the glass in their garage side door and easily undid the deadbolt by just reaching his hand in. If you have glass in a door like this, either replace it with a solid door, or get some type of security screen over the glass so a freak like this can't break the glass and walk on into your home.
