I was grateful when my neighbors came looking for me. I was screaming for help. A neighbor came with a knife thinking someone was being attacked. I was laying at the bottom of my apartment stairs after falling. Shattered both femurs, both knees, 8 ribs and had a collapsed lung. Took 5 minutes screaming before anyone found me. I wasn’t even supposed to survive the weekend. So glad they found me.

Wow! Adrenaline must have helped you scream with all the physical trauma you had! I fell down a flight of concrete stairs. At first my entire body felt like it had been smacked with a board. I felt numb and in horrific pain simultaneously. Very weird. I only broke a couple of ribs, hurt like heck. I'm glad your neighbor helped you!

@@intellectic9155 You're right, most people don't call over every little thing. Hearing someone who is screaming and clearly being hurt in some way is not the same thing as calling over something like a suspicious car or something. no, it's not the neighbors fault she died. But if they had called, the police would have gotten there before he had time to load her up, clean up and disappear. This could have been solved immediately and saved her family a lot of extra pain. Anyone who can hear physical violence and not bother to pick up the phone deserves to be haunted by their atrocious decisions.

Agreed, and it also angers me when the police do not challenge people with this attitude. There is no good reason why the police should not respond with "is that how you would want somebody to respond if it were you or somebody you care about was in the same situation?" I think the police care more about offending somebody who is entirely too sensitive.

People don’t call for a lot of things. There was a bad crash in front of my house where a man was ejected through his windshield. I ran down to help and multiple people were standing around gawking. I was busy trying to keep him from moving because he was in shock and trying to stand but he had a bad compound fracture in his left leg. Figured none of them thought to call 911 and I was right. I was the first call. The FIRST after multiple people had stopped and watched. It’s scary to think the innocent people who could be hurting and nobody does anything. They all assume someone else will. Well guess what? Who cares if you called after someone else already did. They won’t mind, they’ll just tell you they’ve already got someone on the way. And if the cops act like shitheads bc it turns out to be a false alarm? Forget them, it could’ve been serious. People shouldn’t feel so afraid to bother the police

This is such blatant neglect. We citizens have watched this happen to over and over since the beginning of time. It usually happens to people of color from low socioeconomic communities . In defense of authorities, the most departments are always running on a shoe string budget and the greatest number of long term employees, work within the crime solving and homicide divisions. The employees with seniority, work in those positions that require experience, that equates to seniority. We have watched yers of @48HOURS and similar crime solving television and listened to podcasts. We see the cases where wrongly convicted, citizens have spent most of their lives in prison. Erin Moriarty actually host3ed the first such case about 10 years ago on @48HOURS. Her segment highlighted the work of an innocence project, I think located in Chicago, but I’m not certain, because there are currently several such organizations. The attorney’s were able to find that inappropriate procedures during interrogation, combined with half truths written up as facts, by detectives were nought to have more attention focused upon the case. Long story short, the man was released after 30+ years in prison. I believe this police department’s neglect of asking for consultants familiar with Aspberger Syndrome to be present during all phases of questioning this client and any time he was there and considered a suspect should have been the the very least effort made on their part to provide fairness and balance. Regardless of his innocence or guilt, his rights were violated.

I was in my backyard one night with the dog before heading to bed and I heard two people screaming and a woman started screaming no over and over. I immediately called police and held my yapping Chihuahua while talking to them (baby was asleep inside) only to find out the neighbor two doors down was watching a horror movie in his backyard theater. I felt so stupid, but I'll never be sorry for calling the police for what I thought was real.

The amount of people who hear someone being murdered and don’t call the police is astounding. *Make the call!* If you’re wrong, fine. If you’re right, you just saved someone’s life. The sister in the second case knows deep down her brother did it. I feel for her tho. It’s a harsh reality to accept. The “large” dog door is most definitely not the way that guy got into their home. It’s silly to even say that tbh. There is no way he could fit given his size. If the defense used this argument in court prosecutors could’ve had someone similar in body size attempt to do it, so people can see it’s not plausible.

I think detectives need to be coached trained on how to conduct this type of interviews with people that have mental disabilities.🤷‍♀️ Autistic people sometimes they say yes ,to whatever you may say to them to get you off their back , they don’t like confrontation it gives them anxiety , , they also say random sh** without meaning what they say. I think he was manipulated by his guy friend, and he fell for it, now he has to pay the price of his mistakes.😐Prayers for his sister may God give her the strength and acceptance to move forward in life🙏🏻✨so 😞
