You may never see this. I grew up in Merrillville. Before I went into the Marine Corps in 1985 you put a shift kit in a friend's car. It was a 1978 Olds Cutlass GMO. We had so much fun in that car. You do great work. He could chirp the tires in every gear. Thank you for doing these videos, brings back a lot of fun memories.

On the od valve unit the metal lug that goes over the spring ( covered w/metal pl). Well that spring is the same size as the neighbor valve spring. I got them mixxed up. One is red/ lighter and one is black /thighter. Which one goes where? Also torx bolts what are the torque on them? Thanks a bunch!

I appreciate your knowledge. I do disagree with the rounding off of the Rooster. I put my TransGo kit in and thought about it. I did not and am glad I did not. My Trans would not hardly come out of Park prior, really worn ball hole. After, my trans comes out of Park so Easy that I would have been sorry if I messed with it. It almost falls out of park lol. No my Bullet was not loose, it fit perfectly in the hole and had no movement but works great.

Thanks for the video and the advice ..I only know what I been told . Harsh shifts can break parts and does little good if you don't have the line pressure to hold the clutch packs . I was told it's better to have firm shift and then enough oil pressure to hold the clutches..

What do you think of changing the harness and using the old metal round governor pressure sensor/thermistor/temperature sensor on the newer transmissions? 2003 46re 4x4 offroad Moderately hard use in past but basically just a street truck now. Very nice detailed video and I know if I report a trans or Val body and it has gold plates that it's worth Pulling BTW for those who have never done it if you remove the accumulator before taking the valve body out a screw will hold the plug & large spring in place till your ready to remove it but that little one will fly the wind if you're not ready... 😂 If you're really not ready and doing this under a truck you may lose the springs and plug. Fortunately I didn't

I have never even thought of doing something like this so i googled it like most. I watched the entire video i couldn't stop. He is really good at what he does and explains things so very well. Because it is so second nature for him he multitasks the whole time i love it. In conclusion this is a great video and you could completely use this to do the work. And although i think i could probably pull it off with time and organization but there are some things i just gotta pay a pro to do lol.

Thank you for your awesome video's John! I have a few questions. When rebuilding this valve body, do you recomend to systematically install a new O.D. solenoid even if the original is still working? If so, which brand do you recomend? The second question is about the calibrated springs that are not being replaced by a shift kit, are they fading over time and if so is there a replacement kit available for them? Finally, in addition to the rooster come detent kit, Transgo offers a couples of other repair kits, including a new O.D. spring. They are not that expensive so I was thinking to order them all, what is your opinion on that? Cheers!
