🛑 WARNING 🛑 You cannot drain any lithium ion battery to zero volts unless you want to destroy it. Lithium ion batteries (cells) operate from 2.7v to 4.2v for each parallel cell group in your battery. If you drain a 48v battery below 2.7v each cell group (13 cells x 2.7v = 35.1v is the MAXIMUM DISCHARGE! Below this voltage WILL ABSOLUTELY destroy your battery 100% The chemistry of li-ion cells will not allow you to recharge your battery beyond this point. If you try to Force Charge your battery back up after discharging below the limit amount of 2.7v. It will over heat and Explode! This will cause a lithium ion Fire and Burn your House or whatever building it is in down to the ground. Please dear friend.. read study and know how modern li-ion batteries work. 48 v battery fully charged is usually 54.6 v. That’s 13 x 4.2 v. When I change a BMS I try to use one that has exact same sensing plug. 14 wires. 13 red and 1 black. Saves taking wrapping completely off the battery. Also the max ampage output of BMS varies by application. Some only supply 10 amps. Others up to 60 amps and beyond. The sensing plug allows us to measure the voltage of each of the 13 banks of cells. Over time if a BMS is faulty or as batteries age and discharge at different rates these 13 banks can have different voltages. However once 1 bank reaches 4.2v the BMS will turn off charging.

I always Wanted to get a Phatmoto Gas Bike , But kinda a lot of coin. They use 79CC Engines. I have a Honda GX120 Engine that i want to build mine own one year when i get time LOL! But Electric also , Hybrid Type i am thinking. I would have just Changed the Temp Sensor on the Current BMS I am always worried about using cheap china BMS units. Well , As long a you charge her in a Safe spot.. Maybe ok LOL

Will think on it in the spring. I have a hard time getting over $60 for a fender kit.
