Not sure if you reply but WHAT ABOUT VERTICAL ? pls Is this suitable for a vertical display. Im looking for a dressing mirror like monitor for social media / twitter etc. What is the image like on its side...? Does the stand allow it to rotate or would i need a specialist stand etc.

The stand does not allow for that rotation - you would need to VESA mount to the wall. Portrait mode would work fine

Do I not have to have the USB-C plugged in to use the USB ports on the side and back? I was under the assumption the USB-C had to be plugged in to "enable" the other 4 USB ports as a USB hub. Is that incorrect?

You were initially correct - those side USB ports do not work unless connected via the hub connection
