You flatbed guys deserve more money for the time to tarp your loads. I see a lot of jobs where they pay 25.00 per tarping on and 25.00 for un tarping. It's not enough.

Canton, OH! Back when I hauled steel in the 80’s we got good freight out or Republic Steel on 8th Ave and over in Massillon, OH. I had a 42 foot Dorsey with spreads on air! There is a T/A there at the 116 mm but in the 80’s it was a Union 76 Truck stop and just recently looked at the pics I took there. Good ole days and it was then deregulation started! Thanks for the memories and stay safe.

Hey we don’t hear about Katie much anymore? You and her on the outs? You haven’t mentioned Mercer until the Cab Protection Rack. I was wanting to see the cement plant to drop off the klinker? Yes the wind blew the tarp around a bit!!! You make it look easy Dan really I’m sure you have the experience but still it’s always different on each load and your just a pro!!! Ok that’s it on the compliments lol. Thanks & drive safe.

Hi,i love your chanel. I'm an Australian,a truck driver, who now works (driving in France). I ran general freight for years.Tarps, ropes, dogs and chains, straps, nothing mysterious to me. When tarping in Australia the front gate, you call it a bulkhead,is there so as to hold in place your front pallets (or whatever) but primarily it's to help make a nice enveloppe when tarping, the rear bulkhead is there for the same reason. You can tarp and un-tarp rapidly, the way de do it nothing flaps in the find.

My father (trucker) told us the story of hauling transformer sheets (coils where not made then (1956)) to Philips factory. One of the steel straps came loose and the wind blown some of the sheets of. He sead to me that he saw a motorrider came by without his head. Drove about 300 yards before IT wend of the road. Monkey story or not!! John from the Netherlands.

I believe That a trailer mounted bulkhead is safer because the truck mounted relies on the truck and trailer be in direst alignment, anything other than that and the load is impacting one attached side at a time. In other words the 20T load only need to sheer 4 bolts at a time rather than the 8 on your truck. I hope this is clear, Cheers, Billy in Canada.

It's amazing how help of a lot that headache racks do slow scrap down. I've seen some drivers walk away and minimal damage to the tractor.. I've seen some guys not walk away cause their tractor didn't have the headache rack. and it just tears through the truck. Personally I'll take a headache rack bolted to the tractor over a trailer with the bulkhead. I think they don't do as well of a job.

The board does keep the front of that tarp flat. You can also just use a 2 inch strap with 2-3 twists in place of the board. I found that the strap keeps it down just as good as long as you have the twists in the strap
