Yeah, I had to quickly look back at the video number to see if, perhaps, I had clicked on the wrong thing. Dan is one of the few content producers who take the time to number all his videos/vlogs and I appreciate it. With many producers once a video has been up for a few months you can just about forget finding it again, that's for sure. Thanks for taking the time to keep us up to bdate, Dan, have a great Easter, and may all the parts you ordered come in on time and fit right.

Glad the leak on the power steering pump seems to only have been a loose banjo fitting. Also glad you are sticking to keeping it standard with mufflers, the noise of straight pipes is going to cause very tiring discomfort and that is not fun.

Dan , when you put it back together put just a little grease on those stainless bolts . The threads can gall up if you don’t , then they are junk and impossible to work with ..

You could still go straight pipe without spending $2000, just make your own. The Pete I bought. Had 8 inch straight pipes already on it. It's just 2 pipes capped at the bottom with a hole drilled in the bottom so water can drain out. The flex pipe goes into the the side of the pipe just above the bottom. The inside looks to have a inner heatsheild. Cuz I could drive the truck all day and not even burn myself on the stack. Looks to me like your not afraid to work on your truck. You could probably pull that off.

@ronnieterry49163 жыл бұрын
The power steering is probably leaking from a bolt. A fairly easy fix that has worked me is take out the bolt clean the bolt and hole coat the bolt with silicone and let it set for ten minutes then tighten slowly. The exhaust the pipe coming to the muffler is probably the bad piece the muffler is probably still good you can probably very carefully cut the pipe with a right angle grinder or partially cut the pipe and get it to slip apart. Or if the muffler connector is bad and the base of the muffler is still solid you can have another piece welded on to the muffler thus reconnecting it to another new exhaust pipe. I do know that the muffler cost a petty penny.

Old school intro, I like it. As to fixing, the job is never done. Always something to be fixed. Pricey on the parts, but since it's from a dealership this doesn't surprise me much. And heavy-duty dealership prices are even more then light-duty. Price of owner/operating. And I see you was feeling on fire today. 😁

I know about 7 or 8 years ago when I had my 379 those brackets that wrap around the muffler and hold the decorative heat shield on we're not cheap there were a couple hundred bucks plus the Chrome elbows are very expensive plus aggravating to change hence why I just put straight pipes on and never had any problems

Good to see everything is fine...Have been thinking about you since i knew you were home for the vaccine... Regarding the exhaust; on my boat's exhaust muffler, someone said i should use a heat resistant "tape/band/bandage" between the muffler and the bracket. That really helped the muffler not rusting that much because no metal was rubbing while it was "shaking" :-) Sorry about my bad english, but i hope you understood at least most of it :-D

You could have done the poor man's straight pipe exhaust on your semi truck all you had to do was remove the muffler and put a straight piece of pipe where the muffler was and just hooked it up and you would have still had your Chrome stack sticking out the top of your truck and nobody would have seen the pipe because it would have been hidden behind the Chrome covers and it would have sounded aggressive but anyway keep up the good KZbin videos

Never liked straight tipped exhaust, always liked the curved out tips. Didn't understand why they needed to be so high either, would have lowered my to just about the sleeper line to help with wind drag. Used to like the 'tea pot' pipes with the little covers on them (when not in use they closed the top to prevent rain of snow falling down into the pipes).
