I don't know did you watch him, because I don't know how old are you, but people who played against him were telling at TV (not at some podcasts), it was cheating to play against him, because having him at field was like having OC at field. At 2006 SB he completly changed the offensive game plan after 1st Quarter, after he saw conditions at field (heavy rain and slip field) and how Bears defense is prepared for passing game, he decided to change most of the plays to running plays, people forget that game Colts had more rushing attempts than passing and they had far more rushing yards than than Bears who were best running team that season 191-111. Peyton only completed 2 passes for 20+ yards, throwing mostly short passes, screens or check downs to his RBs which was basically another way just to run the ball. Best adaptation of one QB to game conditions that I ever seen in my life and he did that with his mind in SB at biggest stage.

They also think the seasonal MVP award depends on what Purdy does next year and beyond. Lamar Jackson only needs to play well THIS YEAR to get it; Brock Purdy has to play well in a time period that has yet to exist. The MVP award is not a team award. It's not about who you have around you, but simply you're overall performance for that year. This will be the FIRST NFL MVP that didn't lead in a single category for their respective positions. Quite pathetic. Purdy needs to do what NO QB has done before to open their eyes, but even that won't be good enough as he already has. If Brock Purdy threw the ball as much as Mahommes, with the same efficiency Brock has had all year, he'd have 5,700+ yards and 40+ Td's. These Brock Purdy haters are borderline disturbing

Nicks point makes no sense. "People want to compare Purdy to elite talents and then turn around and say that he's not elite." Like, duh! He's obviously not some astonishing talent, but he is putting up elite numbers. All people want is for nick to acknowledge that Purdy is playing amazing, especially given his draft position, and that it's unfair to dismiss every success as solely due to his coach and team, as if no other qb has ever had a good coach and talented roster. Literally, all Nick would have to say is, "I don't think that Purdy is a top 5 talent, but he has been playing like a top 5 quarterback." That's it
@Christopher._M
@Christopher._M 4 ай бұрын
I'm not an expert in football. I just watch it but I'm confident in my ability to judge players. One thing elite players have in common is they either make something out of nothing in incredible fashion like mahomes or they make it look easy like Brady. Aaron is an example of a QB that can do both. Form what I have seen so far purdy is pretty similar to Brady where he makes the right play, at the right time, and is consist. So he make it look easy. Purdy isn't a gifted thrower like mahomes or Allen but he can make some great pases. He has pretty great touch. I think purdy is a lot better than Nick gives him credit for. His stats are not just great for a 2nd year QB. His stats are not just great compared to the average QB today. His stats are not great compared to even the top 10 QB's. His stats are great compared to most Qb's ever. If you went through every season in NFL history you can probably only find 2-3 guys a season that comes close to what purdy had this year. In many years he would have the best stats. Jimmy never got close to what purdy has shown. Even the eye test purdy makes more difficult passes more often. Purdy can make throws more consistently than jimmy ever could. People used to say jimmy was your average QB. So how can purdy be average when he's by far out played any version of Jimmy. That doesn't make sense So either purdy is a lot better than what people want or have the guts to give him credit for or people just can't evaluate and compare at all. In my opinion purdy will be better than every QB in his generation. Maybe the exception is mahomes and borrow. But I think purdy has the Brady Mind.

Because Jimmy went and failed at the Raiders, people are going to assume that the 9ers are in the exact same scenario. However, Purdy has clearly been better than Jimmy was. Most people will admit to that, but they say that still makes you a bad QB. Unless the 9ers go get a different QB, or he gets hurt, we really won't know for another year at least. No, they’ve lost every time he plays bad and they haven’t lost often. If Kittle has a bad game can they still win? Yes. Everyone blames him for the Loss, but then won’t admit he’s the most valuable, it’s literally every qb. Every qb is the most valuable player, that doesn’t mean he’s a better player than cmc, cmcs a better rb than Purdy is a QB, but QB is the most valuable player to the team. JJ Watt said it best, “The honest truth is that it’s physically impossible for any one player to be more “valuable” than the quarterback. They touch the ball every single play. A QB should always win MVP. “Best Player” and “MVP” are often, but not always the same.””

Purdy is the 2nd most valuable player on the 49ers. 1. Trent Williams, the 49ers O line is not very good besides him. The 49ers have lost every game Williams has missed or left early in. 2. Brock Purdy, Sam Darnold is only good enough to not lose a game if the 49ers have a 2 score or more lead late in the game. Why is McCaffrey not 2nd? Elijah Mitchell. People forget how good he is because he sits behind the best hb in the league. Mitchell, when he was the lead back before he got hurt, was electric. He could definitely hold down the fort in a McCaffrey absence, and we have kind of seen some of that this season. He is more than capable of being a starting hb, and whatever team gets him after his rookie contract is up will have their future rb1. The drop off from Purdy to Darnold is greater and more detrimental to the teams success than the change of McCaffrey to Mitchell.

Keep those goal posts close by...excited to hear Nick and Greg dance their way around a 17 point comeback

Nick Wright never played football, no high school football, no Pop Warner. His credentials are a degree in journalism, and a big screen tv in his home that he watches the game. Nothing he says has any weight. Period

Patrick Mahomes vs Dolphins: 23/41 262yds 1TD 83 QBR Brock Purdy vs Packers: 23/39 252yds 1TD 86 QBR For some reason, their performances are reviewed much differently when Purdy in fact had a better game.

It was the two errant passes Purdy through that were nearly picked, I think. Purdy looked uncomfortable in the first half with the elements. But rebounded nicely.

@@apostolostvableIf that was the case then their commentary on Jordan Love would've been a whole lot different. Purdy just gets undeserved hate.

He's going to harp on the BA catch that looked like it could have been an INT but might also have been called for PI but Nick will wave off the flag.

And this is a fact… Do you guys know that Jared Goff has one of the smallest hands in the NFL listed at 9” compared to Purdy and Mahomes at 9.25”? This hand size argument is ridiculous. QB is all about processing, accuracy and poise.

No, it's stupid. Two of the QBs on that list are old, injured and can't play.
