After finding restrictions in the stock intake manifold, we decided to have a go at making one ourselves!

Although this manifold will solve your issues, there is much to learn, read up on fluid dynamics, there is so much more gains to be had in building a custom inlet manifold correctly, not many people actually get it right, only good enough.

We were looking into the Audi dual plenum designs, however this one was out first one so lets see if we blow the welds on the intake

Love it. I wonder if a chargecooler element fits in the manifold 🤔

Make sure you disassemble, inspect, and debur that eBay throttle body. On the one I got the throttle plate screws were loose and the plate had a bur around it keeping it from fully closing

Nice fabrication work Matt, the intake manifold looks ace 👍🏽 Love the D&B outro 😎

Very interested in seeing how you get the key for the TPS to work. Btw manifold looks sick just saved yourself a good $450. Time to send her to the moon
@Camp_Dogs3 жыл бұрын
Still over $450 in parts an materials... did the install video explain enough about mounting the tps?

Hi there where did you get the 4 velocity stacks from ? cheers Shane NZ...

Jnt performance in Aus. They also have an eBay store

The velocity tubes were really a good idea. Easy way to diminish turbulence inside the intake. Maybe not the best but wont be terrible

WickedEP racing have a custom manifold for the 4e/5e that uses a Honda throttle body. Love your design though

What are the velocity stacks size and dimensions of the intake manifold

Let me know

I probably go with 80mm since I can't find a 75mm on my end 😂
@neonsrt253 жыл бұрын
5efte would be ok since is larger displacement 1.5 vs 1.3 going with at least 75mm bore stock 5e stroke is 87 vs 77 on 1.3 5efe crank too

@matt berry, i saw same plenum at ebay, i am planning to buy one, i have a 4efte on my custom jeep. what else do i need to install this plenum, do i have to modify something to install it? your answer would be a great help for my project. thank you.
@regionalmonte2 жыл бұрын
btw, my custom jeep has fmic, stock turbo, planning to install 4agze injectors, i also have external wastegate and bov,.. does stock internals would still be ok?

Would an intake manifold like this make any difference with a ct9 hybrid? I've heard stock manifold isn't a restriction till 300hp
@Camp_Dogs3 жыл бұрын
We made it to 265.... its very hot where i live so i wouldnt be surprised if its capable of making 300+ in cooler weather.
@josephoriordan96733 жыл бұрын
How does it struggle to make over 250hp lots of people run the likes of td04 hybrid turbos without plenum inlets on stock heads bar uprated valve springs and make 260-300hp?
@Camp_Dogs3 жыл бұрын
I had a stock 5efe with valve springs and it made 265 hp on the same dyno on 17psi with that exact manifold that Nick has in this video... We only revved that engine to 7000... the difference is after 7000 the cfm that the engine needs greatly increases and the intake cant flow it. Also a huge factor is our climate is 35 degrees celcius with around 90% humidity... Cold air= dense air= more power. Our climate sucks haha This is why the boys in the UK can make great HP on the TD04 stuff, cold air is great!!

over $450 in parts and materials... youre better off buying a chinese one off ebay ready to go...
There’s a Puerto Rican guy in the US that makes 5E-FE billet manifolds but idk how much they are and if the fit in the 4e they are called gato performance he does really nice manifolds
@Camp_Dogs3 жыл бұрын
tried emailing them, the response was they dont make them anymore... i wonder how much they were...
