Wow.. Me and my wife travelled in this train in April 2019. Got down at Hida Furukawa. Enjoyed the yearly lively and lovely festival. The people were wonderful. Also pretty village. Then boarded again at Hida Furukawa for Toyama. Loved this train. Then enjoyed the snow-laden corridor.

It's one of the programs under JET (which is open to native English speakers from outside Japan), where you can be hired to record for various businesses (including bus and train networks) under a government contract. Although unlike the ALT side of JET, you need to be at least an N2 rating on the JLPT to qualify for that position.

60 tunnels What a lot of work that went into building that particular rail line. And given that line's age it wasn't an easy feat to plan and then dig out. Also there were two Yokai in the train, just staring at the camera. But only visible while in the tunnels. 58:24 `_ • • •••••••• Then later, about 2 thirds through the way, they suddenly change expression. Spooky 2:39:45 '________ • • ••••

I wish I knew a limited express was available. The one I rode stopped at every station and we had to wait 30 minutes for another train to pass. We took the Tokaido line from Hamamatsu and took the Takayama main line from Gifu. The whole trip took 11 hours. On the way back, we actually rode a bus to Nagoya and took the Tokaido line to Hamamatsu. The whole trip only took 8 hours. My back was killing me on the first trip and I’m never doing that again.

A smooth and speedy ride through plains and hilly regions.This cab view is a good one as the driver was out of our viewing area, and our ride was thus not disturbed by his gestures and physical presence and movements. [Cab view trains should switch on their lights when in a tunnel, because you can't see a thing in the dark.]

Empty stations, empty seats. Is passenger rail in poor economic condition in Japan? From the appearance, there has been heavy investment in highways. People travel by highway now? .. (Edit) Lots of passengers waiting to get on at a station in the resort/historic city.

Another great Japanese cab view video from this channel! I was wondering, can anyone explain the large yellow structures on the river bank and either side of the line at 1:25:38?
@davel66834 жыл бұрын
They appear to be "can openers", structures that an over height vehicle would hit before the bridge. It took me a few tries to see, but it looks like there's another road lane under the big arms on the river side, and the arms on both sides are marked with the clearance height (3.8m on the hillside, 4.4 under the big arms).
