Just want to add that the water tower at Austvoll kzbin.info/www/bejne/e4bGhGqZbb6chLc is one of the two last water towers of it's kind on the original Bergen Line. The other one is located at Stryken on the Gjøvik Line. Both of these has a circular foundation. There used to be a tower at Gol as well, but it was torn down during the renovation of the station there, but that tower had a square foundation. When it comes to shaking camera, this is because the system I have was designed for the EL18 and FLIRT specifically. A new camera was ordered in December but due to the current chip shortage and freight challenges.... well I'm still waiting for for it to arrive... The guys at Foto.no is working really hard to get it for me. Huge shout out for them for being so awesome and providing such good service!

Countryside is especially beautiful when accented by snow showing nice detail nearby and on far away mountains. I checked out how much your camera and lens cost. Holy cow! And you mastered your annotations along the way giving a very professional presentation. Only question I have when you occasionally say "oompa-oomp" along the way, what does that mean? Really enjoyed watching that. What a fabulous place to work! I did 25 years on the railway here in the UK as a Guard and a station controller. In the early days when we had slam door trains, we used to to an early morning run that would take us through the New Forest area of Hampshire. We'd always stop at Beaulieu Road station, a tiny place in the middle of nowhere. I remember stepping down onto the platform./ All you could hear was the birds singing their dawn chorus and the hot resistors under the train just ticking away to themselves. Very happy days indeed. Thank you for posting this video, watching it really made my day. :-)

I've been trying to figure out if this was real or not lol. Finally realized at just after 3:02:39 the glare from the incoming train isn't natural. It just appears and disappears instead of panning across as it passes and it never got progressively lighter it just got bright and the disappeared as soon as the other train passed. Some things I've seen made me wonder if it was created or recorded but I am not used to super high Def and I have those tvs now so sometimes things look fake. I gotta say, I'm actually drastically more impressed that it is simulated. That is a shit ton of detail! Unbelievable! Looks like that unreal engine shit. Very high quality work. I've had videos like this running on one of our tvs and love checking in at various times and watching bits of the trail. Very cool and very cool idea.

I like all the videos of Rail Cow Girl (since a long time, when she was "Hindu Cow Girl"), but I realized I like the stabilised videos more. The shaky cam is not my favourite video effect in the movies - and here also, it seems to me that the camera shaking chips away from the impression of serenity and stability that are given by other videos she uploaded, where I can feel like I am effortlessly flying at 0 gravity over the rail lines, in a beautiful landscape. But a big "Thank you for your effort!", anyway!
@RailCowGirl2 жыл бұрын
Like previously mentioned the shakyness is because of the design of the cab itself and my system was designed around the EL18 and FLIRT, I've been waiting for a new systems since December, but due the freight crisis and lack of silicone to make chips everything is hauling out in time. Hopefully I'll be able to rid of that shakiness.. . it's either a bit shaky or no video at all.

Vmax EMU (blue signs), Vmax B7 (small orange sign), Vmax line (black bordered orange triangular sign pointing up or down), Vmax train (set by rolling stock, 120kph if only -ss goods wagons, 100kph if -s and/or -ss good wagons, otherwise 80kph), and Vmax diverted (black bordered circular sign, or 40kph)?
@RailCowGirl2 жыл бұрын
No, You only have Base speed (freight trains, passenger trains with WLAB (sleepers) Base speed + overspeed (for trains approved for overspeed, Class 69, 70, 72, 74/75/76. Type B7, B5 carriages and EL18 Blue signs = allowed speed for trains with active tilting (class 71 and 73) There are more rules applied for freight trains as it comes down to type of wagon, markings and weight and brake percentage. @RailCowGirl2 жыл бұрын
I won't go into details, but a permanent ban on filming was issued in the Vy-group due to safety and liability. There is a reason I NEVER used GPS or showed the trains true speed. Simply because the data can be off making it look like you're speeding. That reflects TRULY badly on the company and the safety. You reap what you sow... The ban burned down other KZbinrs as well, and the pure recklessness is a testament that this is not for everyone. If you're unable to see the reach of your own actions, and how it reflects on everyone else, then you should not be doing this at all. The person responsible for this should be sitting very quietly in the boat for a good while before the National Rail Administration issues a nation wide ban on filming in the cab! Guess this sums it up.
@laurencegray47202 жыл бұрын
Have the railroads in Norway ever thought of imitating what the regional transit agency in Chicago--METRA--and the Chicago Transit Authority did? Both Metra and the CTA officially installed cameras in almost all of their trains to automatically film the trips from the engineer's point of view. Then both Metra and the CTA put the videos on KZbin for people to watch. Also, in addition, the CTA installed cameras in some of their buses so you could take a trip by bus in what is called "virtual reality" if you want to.
