My daughter’s husband is stationed here at Fort Bliss, and I have to say, El Paso is an amazing place to visit! So many hikes, parks, and places to visit. My favorite is visiting the white sands desert. El Paso won my heart over.❤️ South Carolina, USA

I live around 5-6 blocks away from where the video started. I also have to add that recently there's been some major reconstruction going on in El Paso, more of downtown is being remodeled and as an individual that lives here I couldn't be happier. More and more of El Paso is being cleaned up for the public to enjoy. So feel free to come visit.

Muchisimas Gracias!!! you brought me memories from way back !! Me and my carnal Roy (rest in peace!!) have huge History here. (wont get into too much history). We both ran away from our foster home in 1960 and shined shoes and sold gum, i was only 5 yrs. old at the ole plaza in front of the theater and that is where i met my Biological mother at the gator park and at that time it was full of grass. She use to sell flowers there ! (rest in peace Mom) Again Thank you so... much for the memories !!!

Remember when there were live alligators in the water. However, there was a lot of mistreatment of these animals, so they removed them, and now they have these flying like gators.

If you travel around in America you will notice most cities are empty or have little foot traffic. American culture is about the suburbs not the city. If you want to see vibrant cities you would have to visit the European and Asian cities

There's a whole lot of back and forth on what buildings should be renovated and which ones should be knocked down to make way for new buildings with modern designs. A new arena was supposed to be built in the Downtown area, but one of the oldest neighborhoods in El Paso currently sits on that plot of land.

I live in El Paso and this is post-pandemic south El Paso. The streets downtown used to be packed with shoppers from both El Paso and Juarez but currently (5/30/21) people from Juarez aren't allowed to cross the border into El Paso so there's a noticeable decline in foot traffic in downtown El Paso AND the shopping malls.

I love all changes the city of El Paso has made to improve downtown . The result is amazing nice and clean . Walking on the plaza los lagartos 🦎 is a good time to spend with the family. I live here in this border city and the people is very friendly ❤️🙏🥰

I have to ask if there's been a surge in crime because of the border crisis there. I'm not implying migrants are criminals but anywhere there's a surge like we're seeing crime generally follows . Thinking about moving to El Paso. Just want to know that things aren't out of control. I'm not anti Hispanic at all. I love Latino culture and their women are drop dead gorgeous 😍

@@edwardkeller1372LOL, El Paso has one of the lowest crime rates in the country. Immigration doesn’t play a factor with crime levels at all. We have a large military base, FBI headquarters, CBP, and DEA. The last place you’d want to mess in is in El Paso.

I was born and raised here and I haven’t been around those areas to tell you if it’s true or not. I’m sure this is true in every city, and we’ll probably see it if we go looking for it.

South El Paso street resembles the Mission District in San Francisco California but without the noise and the busy foot traffic sidewalks. It's more quiet, less traffic with crowded buses.

Lived there in the late 80s/early 90s working for El Paso Natural Gas Co. in the 'blue flame' building downtown. We parked at the civic center 'Sombrero' parking garage and walked a few of these same streets past the El Paso del Norte Hotel to/from the office. Eventually I was transferred by EPNG to Houston where I live today. El Paso was such a wonderful place to live and work. Fantastic people, culture, weather and (especially) food. I would have loved to have retired there but c'est-la-vie it just wasn't meant to be.

Loved the video, streets in this area, are normally bustling with people. The quiet is due to COVID-19, or it’s a Sunday afternoon. I’ve been there when you can barely walk through a crowd of people all talking, laughing, and just enjoying the downtown area. So many changes from when I was a child, but it’s all in good ways.

You need to visit. It’s a really great town. I was lucky enough to be sent there three times in 20 years by the Army. It has changed a lot and each time I went back to El Paso it had gotten better. There is a sense of pride there, I always felt safe. I like the climate.

El Paso was voted safest city in 2009 the same year juarez was the murder capital of the world. I lived there at that time. I snafus thought the city had a lot of energy. The people are wonderful some are not but it's a great city to live in and experience. You got to try the churroz from downtown. If he's still there

just becouse the U.S. says Juarez, does not mean anything, they say Tijuana is the most dangerous city in the world, another lie, been living in Tijuana, a white dude for over 40 years unless you involved in Cartel stuff, you have a much higher chance of been murder in the U.S., less then 50 American citizens are murdered in the whole of Mexico, most believed for involvement in criminal activities, in the U.S. 15.000 U.S. citizens are murdered yearly, a lot of economic benefits comes from Juarez, Mrs. Chicana

And Merida Mexico was voted the safest city on planet earth behind Quebec Canada, the danger in Mexico unless you seek that life out is blown way overboard, U.S. reports know they can sell this to people who don't know Mexico, not saying there is no problems in Mexico as in anywhere else, lets put it this way, if given the choice I would walk through what's considered the worse neighborhood in Tijuana at 3:am before many neighborhood in the U.S. at 3am, like New Orleans, New York, Detroit, Chicago, L.A. and many other U.S. neighborhoods at 3:am.. in the U.S. everything is politics and race

@@geraldarnoult Only taking murder statistics from specific nationalities is what's making you believe that Tijuana or Juarez are "safe." For the vast majority of their inhabitants they're not. Just because you live in a nice area doesn't mean the city at large is. I sincerely hope that it doesn't get you killed one day.

I left the city in 2002. San Jancinto Plaza was nowhere near as beautiful as it looks today. They've done a great job.. El Pasoans should be proud of their downtown.

El Paso se ve muy diferente, cuando yo viví ahí , no habías esos murales. La calle Stocton era muy fea. Pero todo a cambiado. Nosotros vivimos por la calle Yandel. Esos eran tiempos bonitos. Yo trabaje en una tienda que se llamaba The Popular Dry Goods

If you can, can you walk the NEW UTEP campus. Great job showing off DOWNTOWN El Paso, they have really cleaned it up since I was there last.

El Paso is truely a Mexican city. Dont even see other American nationalities. Just a few. Its clean, nice looking. Like the old towns streets for shopping. Art is so nice on buildings & church. Looks family friendly.

@@joplin8433 not at all el paso does not have skyscrapers the city is more built like a mexican city if you go and watch cities like monterrey and guadalajara it´s much more similar to those cities that to most american cities
