Met Mrs. Aimee at Volaria in Mirabel, sweet person and I truly appreciate the moment. She is just great as a F16 pilot. I will try to see another air show in the state. She signed our viper t-shirt and we took pictures. She made my day! Thanks

I see my dad whenever I see an F-16, my dad worked for General Dynamics / Lockheed for his second career after serving 20 years active in the Navy. He started in Fort Worth, Tx at GD in 1976. Then in the mid 80's he went to Edwards AFB to work on R&D for avionics/weapons systems, he then retired in early 2006 then passed late 2006. It is great to see the Falcons still flying to this day.

@Eternal Peace Yeah, you’re probably right. Can’t imagine why anyone would ever consider becoming a fighter pilot. That has got to be one of the most boring and hated jobs in the world. We should discourage our children from ever considering a career in military aviation.

@Eternal Peace pretty sure its pretty glorious cause they all say it really is. the less glorious part is the non flying part, because pilots are officers and have a lot of secondary jobs on the ground, like maintenance officer , training officer and i don't know what other stuff that needs admin work done when they aren't flying.

Well, as I was watching her clambering into that F-16, I was actually thinking "that's some gymnastics!". Even the ladder was swaying everywhere. Actually more difficult than clambering into the AH-64 AAC APACHE attack helicopter (where you have an overhead bar, to haul yourself up and swing into the cockpit). A fascinating video for showing how she gets into the cockpit. Thank you.

Is it AF regulation to taxi an F-16 with the canopy closed? Don't some pilots keep them open on hot days while taxiing?

Love the Air Force. In the Navy we have the Alert 5. It’s where the pilot, in hostile areas, camps in the cockpit on the catapult, so that the plane can be in the air in five minutes from a cold start. Air Force takes a little longer. It’s a little more chill.

That's a good analogy. The F-16 is very light with a high thrust to weight ratio. One of the world's best low Altitude dog fighters.

The F-16's actual name is Fighting Falcon. "Viper" is a nickname that pilots gave it after Battlestar Galactica came out in 1979.

This bird, I think was to replace the F-4, which we sold a lot of them to South Korea. When I was stationed there, I was told by a Korean officer the first thing they did was remove all the ejection seats from those F-4s because the parts were too expensive. So evidently, those south korean pilots have no ejection option.

South Korea operates mostly F-15Ks and F-35s lol. Not to mention that Korea has more than enough money to even develop their own 5th generation aircraft, the KF-21
