@@sanjuan240 thanks! How does it feel when you are driving? Do you feel a difference? What made you do the swap?
@sanjuan2403 жыл бұрын
@@1ruckus1 I kept breaking stock 4l60 with just bolt ons. Plan on going turbo eventually and read that even stock 4l80 can take handle some decent power so figured why not.
@1ruckus13 жыл бұрын
@@sanjuan240 yeah mine is starting to slip so I'm trying to decide to rebuild swap or replace with but the 4l80e I find here in Tucson dudes are asking 800-1000, I might go turbo in the future to, how is the driving now dose it stay in gear longer? Are you able to break tires loose easy now?
@sanjuan2403 жыл бұрын
@@1ruckus1 honestly bro I would buy the cheapest 4l80 you can get and have it built even a stock build would be better then nothing. 1st and 2nd are a little longer. Can still break the tires easily. You could always mess with the diff ratio so it works for you

I just pick up a a yukon with a 6.0 4l80e 2wd how hard will it be to swap it in a Silverado 2wd
@sanjuan240 Жыл бұрын
Pretty easy i would think you literally have all the parts you need. Might just need a different/custom driveshaft I would think

Why did you hang the TruCool upside down rather than the way the factory one is hung?
@sanjuan240 Жыл бұрын
Just from research I found out it didn’t really matter orientation wise. It was just easier for to mount this way. I just figured if I ever take it off the mess will be minimal. Trans never got hot this way btw.

What's your electric fan setup
@sanjuan240 Жыл бұрын
Oem fans from the corresponding truck WITH the oem harness and relay box. Repined to stock ecu AND tuned so they operate as factory would.

I don't know if you did or not but lube up the snout on the torque converter or the pilot hole on the flex plate along with the lineup pins on the transmission case. Prevents any corrosion from forming on either the trans or torque converter in which saves them from becoming a bitch to get apart from the engine in the future.
@sanjuan2403 жыл бұрын
Good tip I did the torque converter but didn’t do the lineup pins

I would think so only difference I can think of would be the drive shaft length.

Does the truck still feel light and spunky or does she feel more lousy it’s the only thing holding me back from actually doing the swap my truck already has 4.11s so it should help it

How did you go about finding the measurements for your driveshaft
@sanjuan2402 жыл бұрын
I would go to a driveshaft shop and ask what measurements they need might be different from mine. In my case they wanted from the output shaft on the transmission to face of the yolk on the differential side

If I pull my 80e from a junkyard I should be able to use the flex plate that it was attached to right? Instead of buying a new one??

I don’t remember actually. I’ve read the stock 4l60 stock driveshaft length works with a new yoke but I can’t confirm.
