Excellent presentation. I have a 4l65 that is not shifting on its own. But I can manually shift through all gears no problem Power is confirmed 12v at plug tcc is working.

Hey man this really helped I was puzzled with my 1997 z71 1500 and ima try this and see if it works, and also it’s doing some weird crap where the transmissions shifts into neutral sometimes could that also be the solenoid and would this also affect my speedometer only working after I hit a certain speed and it says I’m going way faster than I actually am?

hi, yeah you can make tester. copy the bore sizes from the valve body. solvent we use is mobil x55. we use it because I don't like a distinctive smell like most other solvents seem to have. cheers

hi, pop off one of coolinglinesand see if its pumping fluid...you may have pump damage. if it has flow then you have broken something inside or stripped splines. cheers

I have a 1995 Chevy caprice think something is causing the transmission to go In limp mode replaced trans same results low power in first gear like it’s dragging but if you get airflow it rides fine but seems to be stuck in one gear

hi, limp mode is logged by pcm as an electrical issue that has exceeded the set parameters several times. check solenoids, then wiring loom,then ecu. it will usally be the solenoids and/or pressure switch plate on these. if low power check for blocked catalytic converter by loosening exhaust. maybe replace fuel filter as well. cheers

1998 tahoe out of nowhere won't go above 25-30 without revving only code is service 4wd encoder motor not sure if that could cause it or if its in need of a tranny rebuild, a week before I replaced a high pressure power steering hose it was driving good drove it at 10am drove fine went to leave at 6 pm later that night and it wouldn't go over 25-30 it would just rev up like I was in neutral, thanks for any input

I have replaced the solenoids in the transmission and have changed fluid and filter and a new catalytic converter and just about every sensor is brand new too, I just found it odd to be fine never show any sign of transmission failure drive fine then 8 hours later won't go over 30 mph, appreciate any tips or advice

hi, are there any fault codes? have you done a trans stall test? is it better or worse cold or hot ? many things to check and confirm before anyone can determine anything, especially when you say you have replaced many components. cheers

@@YepThatsIt I have not ran a Trans test and it doesn't matter hot or cold always does it only code is 4wd encoder motor I wasn't sure if it put it in a limp mode or something I just find it odd if it's the transmission to go from fine in the morning to not going over 25-30 mph in the evening, Thank you for the response

How do you get the Filter seal out

hi, with a small screw driver tap the cladding part of seal inward - bend it in a few spots toward center of seal and it should fall out or easier to pull out with pliers. # CAREFUL not to damage the bore in pump. to tap it in we use a driver that fits into new seal - it needs to be tapped in squarely and flush with pump housing. cheers

Hello i have no 2 n 3 n 4 gears i have just 1 n reverse all other gears work under 2000 rpm have no power slipped on more rpm I use a pressure gauge i have 60 psi on all gears and all rpm and on driving mode just on reverse i have 100 psi I take off the transmission and open i find all gears good and not burned u think from the pressure switch manifold ?

Hi I have an 03 hummer that is doing the same thing, less than 5k miles on a rebuilt Trans and it started going into limp mode, the last time I checked it threw codes for every single solenoid and said low power, changes the plug that goes the the shifter sensor and it still does the same, all fuses checked as well, the mechanic that rebuilt it said he doesn't think all solenoids would go out like that, but because it's been over my warranty time he can't fix it, any idea to what could cause it

hi, it really is hard to diagnose without seeing the vehicle with some problems. does it slip at 55mph or will not accelerate? could be many things...fuel problem, electrical problem, blocked catalytic etc. take to a transmission specialist for a test drive, we usually do that for free anyway. cheers

YepThatsIt yes it’s stuck in third gear but when I come to a stop light and clear the p0758 code it shifts back to first I already changed my solenoids both of them

hi, plenty of code info in manuals or online, often multiple fault codes will indicate weak battery, bad earth or electrical connection. check all basics firt. cheers

hi, first check and do all the basics first without removing anything....oil level, battery full and strong, electrical connectors all good and not oxidised. the output speed sensor tells the computer the vehicle is moving and compares to the input sensor , if its not working you need to test and/or replace it anyway. if no codes, then i`d drop pan and check to see if the manifold switch place is choc block full with rubbish. its the plate bolted on to bottom of valve body. cheers
