Wow, that camera angle is incredible! I'm starting to watch all of your CNC playlist of videos. I really like the Genmitsu 4040 pro CNC, but not quite ready to buy yet.. still learning the laser... lol ... I know CNC is in my near future for sure!😀 We can see so much better with the extra camera view from the Atomstack camera ...and we can really see how that 4th Axis moves. I keep hearing about a 4th axis, but I didn't quite understand what is was.. Now I get it!!! Your video makes it not so intimidating, but I know there is a lot to learn and understand. Another awesome video, thanks so much!👍

Looks like you are having fun with with the 4th axis. A number of years ago I built a 4th axis for my CNC Bridgeport milling machine. I have done some very cool carvings on it. You should be able to do carvings with this setup as well. The models are fairly reasonable as well. Fun stuff for sure. Thanks for the video, Gary

I made this design using a 3D printing file that I grabbed of thing i verse. Now that I have got that working, I can hopefully make many more small items.

I use the 1/8 inch collet adapter as well for my 1/8 inch ball nose bits. Just make sure you insert it correctly. And make sure you clean the collet every time you change bits. Believe it or not, any saw dust in there will really mess up your day.

Oh my gosh! I am so glad I found this video. I have been watching your videos for a while, but they mainly were the laser ones. I just picked up a Genmitsu 4040 pro and a fox alien masuter pro with extension. Basically I have been planning to use each for different applications. You just blew my mind with the whole 4th axis on the Genmitsu. I may need to buy a 3rd machine!!!!!

@@TheClackShack it does, but I didn’t know before I watched this video. I had planned that this machine was going to be solely dedicated to 2.5d carving (due to long carving times). So I either have to buy a 4th axis (which is a possibility) and swap it out or just get another cnc. And with how cheap the Genmitsu 4040 pro is to tool out, it’s seriously worth looking into. By my own calculations, I could have my Foxalien Masuter pro with the 4080 extension, a Gemitsu 4040 pro, and a Genmitsu 4040 Pro with a 4th axis rotary all for the price of a one Infinity. Heck if the Onefinity is fully tooled up, I can even pay for Aspire and possibly individual dust collection (and the Onefinity is what I was eyeballing). So far I have been highly impressed with these machines😀

@@TheClackShack it’s a great machine and with the rails and ball and screw setups I think it will work better for the carving than the belt driven fox alien (at least I think it’ll be less susceptible to mid project issues). The fox alien is a good machine to, very fast and big bed - just plan on it being more production work (repeatable projects). I’m super excited by this whole cnc adventure!

You can use the split screen option in v carve desktop to keep both 2d and 3 d open on your screen. Small brass brushes knock off the fuzzies well after cutting, saves having to sand.

How did the roller connect to the CNC?? You did not show that. My router uses all of the ER11 collets and it is a 65mm router. It's called a ROUTER11 and I think it is a better router than the DEWALT and I believe it was cheaper. It comes with 2 extra brushes. I've had it for a year now and it works really fine. It goes from 10000 rpms to 32000 rpms.

It has a plug on the controller. Just plug and play, the 4040 was made to work with it.

I can tell that you plugging this into a fourth (A) axis on the controller, since you are still able to control the Y axis of the machine, but wouldn't this still technically be considered a three axis machine? Because you are still only controlling three axis' - standard Z axis; standard X axis; and the rotary tool acting as the Y axis since the machines' Y axis doesn't move while cutting. I mean, don't get me wrong. It's still cool. I don't think I've ever seen a rotary on a CNC before. I have a three-jaw rotary for my laser... I may have to hook that up to my CNC and play with that. I'd have never thought of that before seeing yours!
@TheClackShack
@TheClackShack Жыл бұрын
They named it 4th axis, technically it does add a 4th axis but it does not use it for the cut. You can control all 4 axis with the controller. If the file told it to move the Y axis, it would. Found that out the hard way. You have to use a certain post process made for the A axis.

Hey Clack, would you be able to hook the controller to a computer once in g-code and run it from a computer? We just bought a Cnc router 4 x 8 table and I have it running from a computer to controller. So I have 2 computer so I can use the light burn program and the the other computer to run my g-code. Just asking if you thought about that? Thanks for all of your info very helpful 👍🏼 Great Job Clack 😊
