Silver makes the most sense to me cause it has to be a character that wasn’t frozen in the main game as they’ve said the shadow portion happens at the same time as the sonic portion, and silver is one of the three that wasn’t.

I'd expect another playable Shadow until they'll reveal otherwise. I'd like Silver, Omega, Rouge, Mephilies, Black Doom or Infinite being playable though but that would overhype me too much. We won't know which is the other playable character until they'll either reveal it or if it gets leaked.

I think Omega might actually be likely, for the sole reason that he wasn’t in the original Generations aside from the statue room. Since the stories happen at the same time, Rouge would be frozen in time, so Omega being around could make sense, it would explain where he was.

It could definitely be a case of miscommunication, where it could not even be a new playable character but rather something else. Of course I want to see a character such as Silver to be playable, but I wouldn’t keep my hopes up. Also, I don’t see how there could even be new playable characters since the stages use gimmicks like chaos control, which is obviously exclusive to Shadow.

If you think about all of those could just be act 1's for shadow, classic and modern dont play the same acts, so its entirely possible that the stages we seen shadow playing are exclusive to him same way modern stages are exclusive to him, the new character will only play on their own stages and acts, apart from shadow

@@LightHikaru metal sonic as a universal character (for both Sonic and Shadows portions of Generations) sounds great and would definitely be a cool reward for 100% completion, as an example. Silver to me is extremely unlikely, simply because he is such an unexplored character in the franchise. I really don’t see him suddenly coming back as a playable character, in an expansion to a game. However, this would be a great way to test Silver as a playable character for a potential game in the future that features Silver. Even if the latter is not true, just being able to play as silver again would be awesome. Regardless, I’m still keeping my expectations very low, just because this seems like a miscommunication and not a hint towards different playable characters. It could just be skins of Shadow, possibly different eras of Shadow (such as Dreamcast era Shadow), or even different variations of Shadow (with the new doom powers). Again, I really like the idea that you brought up for Shadow Generations (about the acts), but I think it’s a bit too far of a reach to assume that would actually be the case in the game. I feel like if they would go as far as to bring playable characters like Silver, they should go all out in a new game, rather than an expansion to Sonic Generations.

@@therealdk01 i really think it could be Silver or Metal Sonic, cause if you think about it, they're the only ones that you dont free from time eater, sort of, they're already there and they challenge Sonic to give their emerald to him, so for Silver to be alongside Shadow on his story makes sense cause it would show how he's also free from time eater and etc. Metal Sonic, Shadow and Silver are the only rival battles in the game so given that Shadow got to be in his own section, meaning he had his own adventure (it wasnt just Sonic fighting time eater and filling white space) so Silver and Metal Sonic should also have their part included cause they're also are rival battles

Silver would make the most sense since they had their character arc in 06. Shadow and Silver went back in time, Shadow tried to seal Mephiles but Mephiles ended up taking Shadow's form while Silver saved kid Elise. Although a damn twist would be Shadow X Mephiles just due to how they both have the same character features so it would be kinda like modern and classic Sonic. I'm just sayin, if Kingdom Valley is there Premy then we could see the scepter of darkness yet againnnn.

But i just don't feel like that would be possible, even if you don't care if it messes up the lore, it still wouldn't make sense for a Classic variantion of Shadow The Hedgehog to exist. And that goes to say that Shadow was created in the lab on the Space Colony Ark at that time. 8:09 Infinite is also not possible, because Generations takes place way before Sonic Forces, so Shadow has never met him, at least not yet until Dr. Eggman discovers the Phantom Ruby in the Sonic Forces Prequel Comics, and quite possibly the same one we saw back in Sonic Mania, which then leads to events of Forces.

It is also one of the few characters to Rival Shadow and be considered a contender for the ultimate life form. My take that it's going to be android shadow that plays like classic sonic because you know it had it's lore when shadow was confused if he is the real shadow or an android. Or a super triple but it's hidden like SA2 when the final story is playable when you beat the hero and the dark story. But why i don't think it's first it says in the trailer "and antiheroes" so it may not be mephiles or eggman but the idea of mephiles in this game is really cool but if he will be in the game he would only be a villan as a boss and his gameplay mechanics would be very complex to implement and we already know that eggman is with the time eater. The second thing is it says "3 hedgehogs" so i don't think so it would be silver maybe metal sonic because he is not particularly a hedgehog he is just the same case as android shadow but i think it's android shadow more because, well, shadow... i guess.

I think that mostly kids are asking for Classic Shadow. Classic Sonic is the most popular playable character in Sonic Speed Simulator and they're asking for Classic Shadow there too, by the way. Now this is definitely a desperate thought, but considering the fact that this game means to explore Shadows alien heritage, I'm hoping that the mystery character is the canonization of Eclipse the Darkling from the archie comics. I know it wouldnt make sense considering the fact that the setting utilizes memories to form obstacles, so if Eclipse did show up it would go under the implication that shadow and eclipse have met before and that shadow remembers him, but with enough creative and/or lazy writing, I have hope sega can make it work. But if its not, im hoping for classic shadow

I think it’s SA2 Shadow. I don’t really see there being two Sonic’s in Sonic generations and not two shadows in Shadow generations. Classic Sonic is the older, retro and nostalgic Sonic and SA2 Shadow is the older, retro, and nostalgic Shadow (SA2 came out 23 years ago) so it only makes sense to me. They might even introduce SA2 Shadow as classic Shadow😅 Edit: I’d like to add that I feel the reason why a lot of people aren’t bringing up SA2 Shadow is because we’re all under the impression that another shadow being in the game equals a small classic sonic-like shadow and we’re scared that they’ll mess up the adventure gameplay and can’t imagine them bringing it back

My best bet is that its either Metal Sonic or Silver. Classic Shadow can't really work since Shadow wasn't around for the classic games. Although part of me wants Blaze if only because of Sonic Rush bias

I never clicked SO FAST lol, ever since frontiers I've been so hyped for anything modern sonic related content. Anyway its rouge i think, she was seen flying down to shadow in that final scene vs time eater (i so hope they retcon this entire cutscene)

I know I may be a fool for even considering, but Infinite COULD be that 4th character, he does have red as his primary color and we see Shadow's levels all kind of changing form, and the two characters have a strong relation.

Oh shit I just realised - if Classic Sonic is the Sonic of the past, then Shadow could be as well - 50 years in the past. What if we play a younger Classic Shadow from the Ark? Maybe that's what instigates the whole thing, Black Doom going back in time to kill "Classic" Shadow. I hope it's Silver though - if time travel is involved it makes sense, and I hate that Silver isn't playable in any "good" Story based games. I worry his gameplay style might be too different - though with the Black Doom powers who knows?
