I think that The Pit is a better obstacle if you climb up it rather than go down it. Otherwise, the course is definitely getting better!! In my life, I went out to my sister's farm to get my summer tires put on my Subaru Forester. My nephew is quite the mechanic and did the swap for me. My sister has a lot of storage on the farm, so I keep my tires up there. And it was a legit excuse to visit. Unfortunately, no hugs and such. Going up on my winter tires took a quarter tank...and it took less than half that on the return with the summer tires. It was a nice day here in Ottawa...sunny, about 13 Degrees Celcius (~55 degrees F), a tad bit more in the sun. Everyone was healthy, and I am thankful for that!

You have made my day by driving the Deadbolt on the newly created crawler course. I have started some crazy RC driving obstacles in my back yard: woodpile, paver stairs, long board runs, ramps, mud holes, and mulch speed sliding. I needed some more ideas and then I see your post! Going to drive some more tomorrow and add some ideas from your design to the side and front yard. Whooo-hoooo! I could use some ideas for the indoor 1/24 scale track too!

I have this same crawler. It's my first and only so far. I took off the non-working light bar and in its place I put an FPV camera and mounted a video xmtr on it. I drive it around my place from a chair under the shade tree. FPV puts a whole new level of realism in crawling. You should give it a try. Nice video as always!

Realy cool I need a crawler!!!! Time to build a course. I'm in mass and it's tough with the shut down. I might get the 1/24 axial jeep you guys showed in an earlier video. Thinking smaller. Cause I'm stuck inside for the most part. Waiting for my local shop to open back up to run on their track.

A well run course, small improvements here another there.👍. The two board crossing was good. Maybe to make it a bit more challenging, you could replace the boards with some 1 inch or so re-bar or just add re-bar in for two crossings. Sorta like a tight rope crossing. Maybe the crane place has some scraps they could donate. Also I'd like to see which truck has the Moxie to bash it's way through those weeds. Good run, stay safe SAYLOR'S. ⚓⚓⚓⚓👍🌈💖❣💝🌈👍⚓⚓⚓⚓

I can't remember what it was but I ended up with the same controller as the other Deadbolt, which I'm glad, cause I thought the same about that style controller. I put a SSD winch bumper and a Warn winch on my first Deadbolt so I switched out the bumper, I just like the look of the 'stinger' for this type of truck. I like my SCX24 Deadbolt, bad weather I can still do some crawling inside. I like the original green color of the C10 24, but I want to get the grey one. Also along with a second body and paint it another original color, blue with white cab roof.

You guys are making me want one . Bashing or Crawling ? Both ?
@miker14734 жыл бұрын
I'll chime in. It's a little slow for bashing....unless you find a clay mudhole to do donuts. It's more of a crawler. As with most rtr's.. plan on getting a stronger steering servo, if you plan on doing bigger rocks, especially rip-rap type....very sharp edges, and such. But, for most backyard crawling, trailing, and the mild stuff...like in this video...it's fine.
@randall44114 жыл бұрын
@@miker1473 Crawling looks fun but I would get tired of it in a month . Versatility is more important to me .
@miker14734 жыл бұрын
Well...you could just go with the regular Traxxas TRX-4. It's more money, but, it's more truck. You'll get a 2 speed transmission/ lock, or unlock one, the other, or both, axles. It's a great all around truck. I think it'll do around 12mph, in high gear. If that's not fast enough, you can change the pinion, spur, or both gears out, for more speed.. as first gear is real low. But....it's a $400+ truck. Still, less than the $500 you almost got burned. And, the trx4 will be a very true to life looking scale truck. You'll almost be afraid to drive it fast...lol. You can always pick up something called "swirl and scratch remover" from Harley-Davidson. It'll allow you to cloth buff out any mars you pick up in the body finish.

@@lylekehrer6159 should be around $250-$260, at the MOST, by now. Like I've said before, the most capable, reliable, out of the box, rtr these days, is the traxxas trx4 sport. This deadbolt isn't far behind, although it doesn't have portal axles. Both can use a steering servo upgrade, for technical rock crawling. But, for trailing, both are good stock. The deadbolt is a bit more top heavy. #1 thing to do, is cut the fake light bar off the top. Then, maybe remove some segments of the roll cage. From there...tires- Pro-Line Hyrax predators. Pro-Line dual stage foams, on some bead locks. Weight on the axles in the form of diff covers. And, from there...just whatever you need to go in whatever direction you're purpose building the rig for. I think if you wait for the scx 10.3 rtr to come out, the deadbolt will drop even more. My money, on a first truck (mine was) is the Traxxas TRX-4 Sport. $339, and money well spent.
