Thanks for the review. I have been considering the Mitsubishi and you have put some of my doubts to rest.

It's always interesting to note that reviews never mention build strength. C rail vs D rail, thinkness of steel in tub etc. I suppose that doesn't matter to them, they're just interested in what the cars can do in one day. As a consumer I would like to know more of what I can expect 10 years down the track. Do I still have a ute or piece of crap.

Excellent review ! Mitsubishi Triton / L200 has a very good sense of a low-speed maneuvering and when reversing and turning radius ! Very good seating position and angle of the exterior mirrors! Highly durable materials, comfortable seats in the cab! No creaking sounds at all in the cabin as well as at higher mileage ! The car is moving well and acceleration from 0-100km / h is much better than the technical parameters show ! At -24 C starts engine from the first rev ! Very good quality !

Mike F the The New Amarok V6 can tow up to 3.5 tons the Old one could tow up to 3.2 tons. the New Amarok V6 goes from 0-100 in 7.9 sec. It can carry up to 1 ton in the bed. and it has Powerboat oder Overboost as some call it 160kw to 180kw. All numbers are metric. this is how we get it in Europe

I own the new Navara NP300, everything they said about it is true. But if you dont plan to tow 3.5 don't buy it. But if you're talking long distance driving it's is by far the most smooth ride you'll ever get because of the tray suspension while towing a 2.5 camper trailer. Very small road noise and no tray bounce. I've driven a ranger and Colorado from Newcastle to Brisbane (work vehicles) and Navara wins in you being comfortable for long drives and fuel.

This happens time and time again, the Mitsi performs way better than expected and gets little to no glory for it. Why are the expectations on Mitsubishi always lower when they consistently perform great? The Triton did as well as and in some cases better than the other utes there, not to mention that it's between $10k-$15k cheaper than the competition.

These “experts” all seem to forget that when you are towing you should moderate your speed appropriately. 90-100kph is plenty towing 1.5 ton. If you can hold speed up a long hill climb it’s a good un. 380Nm in the Isuzu for example is plenty with a good driver. These utes are being made too powerful for weekend warriors with nothing but KZbin experience. Accidents waiting to happen. 15 years ago people thought the hilux 3.0d with 343Nm was a good towing platform, here’s a hint, it still is. If you want to tow 3.5T get an appropriately sized truck a Ute, whilst legal, is not a safe option for such large trailers.
@sailingcitrinesunset40652 жыл бұрын
100kmh is too fast for 3.5T in a duel cab ute. Watch the youtube video of a Triton jackknife and roll over towing a boat.

Would have loved to see a "real world" fuel consumption test with these utes while carrying the 800kg and when towing. My gut feeling is that the bigger displacement engines would outdo the smaller ones. Coming from a bloke who constantly carries 500kg of crap and laughs at the "rated" consumption figures.

Just because the Navara had rear coils doesn't mean it shouldn't cope. The now departed Defender was all coils and that had a higher maximum train weight than any of them.
@robthurlow13475 жыл бұрын
So true 7000kg train weight for a 130 giving it 1 ton payload and the ablity to tow 3.5 tones at thr same time which none of them can match and with only 120bhp maximum over its life from the factory. You may never manage to stop it though if you do that.

It's interesting to see smallish trucks being sold around the world. Of all trucks shown here the only one being sold in the U.S. is the Colorado as either a Chevrolet Colorado\GMC Canyon. The Hi-Lux isn't sold here, we have the Toyota Tacoma which isn't a rebadged Hi-Lux, it's a different model (bigger). We don't even have the Ford Ranger, Ford stopped selling here a few years ago. I'm hoping to see the mid sized truck market grow in the U.S. Actually I'd like to see small trucks make their way back to the U.S. market, kinda want I truck that I could afford. Not liking the idea of spending $35,000+ for a well equipped 4x4 truck. The Ram 700\Fiat Strada is something I'm very interested is seeing sold here in the U.S.

A friend has bought a Z71 only for it to spend at least one day a week at the Holden dealer being fixed. The latest is a rear window motor failure, went down but won't go up! How about these vehicles get tested to the point of breaking, much like a crash test. Then give them reliability stars, based on the breakage test, owner feedback and real world results. Only then should the best be tested like this. Make the manufacturers improve their vehicles, their dealer network and make them responsible for their $55k product. Why don't all of these so called motoring experts lobby the government for lemon laws?
