Back in the 1970s growing up in Richmond VA, my neighborhood friend's father owned a red Lamborghini Miura. Waking into his small garage and standing next to that car when I was not more than 10 years old left a lasting impression on me. That car was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen and seeing those carburetors peaking through the back glass was incredible. These cars are a work of art.

@@solomonshv Sure and houses flood and burn down all the time. That is what insurance is for. Why get a car so expensive that you would be too afraid to drive it or worry that a few additional miles down the road will affect its value? Miuras cost anywhere from 800k-1.5m $ with very nice ones 2-2.5m $ which is way way less than the 5m$ for this one (which is crazy btw). Besides that, these cars have gotten to the point that they will never be written off no matter what happens to them they will always be restored. Also, cars of that vintage need to be driven often and driven pretty hard to remain in good working condition. Ever heard of the Italian tune up? Personally, I would never get anything, let alone a car, that I would never use. Like what is even the point? just to hoard various loot in your "cave" like a dragon? Live a little! because life is short and the best thing to do with money is to spend it on experiences. Ps Sad for your 850 that is a sweet ride

That must have been a stressful detail, given the non-monetary value of the car and that you have to have the "restoration/preservation mindset". I've never wrapped up the scenario and approach with that term, but it's perfect and I'm really appreciating these older videos. My grandpa restored many ~1930s Model A's and 130 cars with original parts and stored in barns. I recall sneaking away to explore his (not) maintained barns, the smell of oil, random plants gowning in rays of sunlight coming in through cracks or broken dusty windows -

When doing vehicles like this, it's age is a massive factor when making a "game-plan" on how much you should do to it, in order to avoid compromising the material inside and out. Is there an age where you look at a car and go "Okay, this is a detail where less has to be more", like say cars that are 20 years old and older?
