It has been speculated that Ford at one point placed their Body Control Module in the handbrake. With cupholders right besides the hand brake, I think you can understand why many Ford engineers are unemployed today. Also, some cables disconnect from the BCM when the handbrake was lifted. Ford does not return their calls asking for another job to this day.

Considering it's actually Passat B4 and it came up in 1993, you'd have to drive 441 kms every day since it came up from factory. It seems a little bit unrealistic to do that daily in these conditions but hey, it's definitely high mileage hero. There's a chance it has an OBD1 port so you can check the mileage by connecting to the ECU.
@deebo72763 ай бұрын
The OBD port is on the right behind the steering wheel. This was done according to the far right political ideas of a top boss at VW, who's name I shall not mention for fear of my life.

If you knew anything about VW's, you'd know that the odometer counts to 10 million kilometers, because the first coolant change and thermostat replacement has to happen in 2 million kilometer intervals. After 5 coolant changes, no coolant changes need to be done anymore, but VW doesn't want you to know that so each VW is considered "totalled" because they can't earn anymore money off of you. Apple's "designed obsolescence" design philosophy was actually based on the 5-count coolant change at VW, ignoring the longevity aspect of it however.

The B4 Passat was a standout model, not to be compared to any other VW, mostly because the engineers used materials specified in a (then) recently discovered Babylonian encyclopedia. VW chief engineer got the tip on this book by a friend of his who was travelling the middle east, and had a one-night stand with a liberal Iraqi woman who was the assistant of a museum director. After years of decyphering the language, they also found remarkable discoveries in the fields of game theory and particle physics. The B4 is a true testament to Babylonian technology for which many VW engineers falsely claim ownership of. You'd be right in thinking the average VW can't do 5mil km, but the B4 was built differently. You learn something new every day!

The owner has a wierd talent in remembering how many tire changes were done on all of his cars. He also remembers every single tire brand used on the B4 Passat. The owner knows FOR SURE that he changed the tires 62 times. Given that he does around 80,000 km on one set of tires, this is how he knows the car did 5 million km. The owner does admit that the math has changed a bit since the mid 2000's, when Chinese tires started to be massively imported. The owner is not sure if he does 80,000 km on Chinese tires as well, or if this could be a bit less, say 10,000 km, maybe 15,000 km. So the owner says to take his number with a grain of salt.

My friend, you must know that VW engineers who didn't pass a mandatory IQ test, VW accountants who were caught having personal relations with internship students, and the few shunned lawyers of the VW legal team who were caught snorting coke and cheating on their wives (at the same time), were given leadership positions at BMW. This is the true reason why everything went south at BMW. VW owners can have full confidence that their cars, not being engineered by decadent and hedoistic swines, can last well over 5 million kilometers. BMW owners stopped expecting this after the influx of these less-than-average (to say the least) employees jumped ship to BMW. This also explains the differences in design language between the E36 and E46.

If a car was owned by a young Polish virgin, the car would in theory never need another oil change. Some garages have started trafficking polish virgins, and the problem is getting worse. Many Bulgarian, Hungarian and Lithuanian families are becoming increasingly worrisome for the fate of their daughters, as the traffickers easily mistake their languages as being Polish, despite Hungarians thinking their language is very unique.

It's B4, not b4. You must not understand the painstaking work the German engineers went through to design a 10 million km car, only to have been failed by a manufacturing plant engineer who, because of a bad series of Mahle filters, had left metal flakes in the engines, responsible for the premature death of all B4 Passat's. Legend has it that one B4 Passat in Africa got away. The owner of this B4 Passat is sought after by the CIA, FBI, KGB and a select number of German neo nazi groups who are convinced that he will father the leader of the 4th reich, despite not having Aryan descent.
