5.29 Gears on a 3rd Gen 4runner!!

I recently got my 1996 4runner regeared with the yukon 5.29 gear set.
In this video I talk about one of the common concerns about regearing.
As far as gas mileage, I haven't driven enough to have accurate numbers yet but from my understanding, I should get slightly better gas mileage in the city and slightly worse on the highway.

I have a 1985 Toyota 4runner SR5 5 speed with the 22re and runs well with 5:29 gears and sits on 35' in BFG's. got it up to 90mph, no problems.

Did the car became any faster to accelerate off the line? 2500rpm at 100km/h looks pretty good to me

Its not a crazy difference, but yes it is a bit faster off the line

@kahootsss I don't have a link but let me look into it for you. I bought mine from a guy who works at the Toyota dealership. He just ordered everything for me. If you know any shops or mechanics, maybe ask them as well because you'll need some seals that don't come with the gears

I can't decide between 456 and 488 for 285 75 16 on 3rd gen. I'm 4.30 now

Go with 456 if u are doing most highway. I did mine is on 34s and 4.88 i don't like high rpm on the highway.
