5.3 Natlan Archon Quest: the Fate of Capitano and the Traveler

About the Capitano situation!! Every reigning had 17 playable IDs for characters. There are currently 15-16 of these playable IDs. Capitano could be the 17th of these playable IDs. It’s also a good sign that he doesn’t have a boss fight. It could be an Arlecchino type of situation where we spar with him in his story quest. Every nation has two weekly bosses- 1 from the archon quest and 1 from a characters story quest. Obviously, we could receive the second boss fight from Mavuika’s story quest. But every nation has had a Fatui Boss fight (aside from Mondstadt). There’s also a strong chance that Capitano has an ancient name and could be resurrected if he does die. He seems to be using some form of the Nightsouls blessing state in his initial fight with Mavuika. There are also smaller details like him having a sticker unlike Signora/Dottore and his sword having a unique name. There is also a common trend among playable harbingers where they appear in patch art aka the art we see at the end of version trailers. Childe, Scara and Arlecchino all have patch art. As far as I know, Signora and Dottore do not. Capitano has obviously received patch art. I have high hopes for king!!

@@ScarletteXoxo-wg2ui there’s stuff in the files suggesting he’ll be playable. At least that’s what I’ve heard. Sorry, I wasnt playing yet when that patch art came out.

I have a suspicion that you might be right regarding the traveler dying. However, I think it may tie everything together for a different reason. As stated by Nahida, the traveler is NOT recorded in irminsul, yet the sibling is. It is possible that when the traveler dies and is resurrected, they "become part of this world" due to the ode of resurrection. This may be why the sibling is recorded in irminsul, due to them having undergone their journey already. It is not explicitly confirmed that not being recorded in irminsul and not being affected by irminsul have to happen at the same time. In my opinion, it's possible that due to the traveler's ancient name and dying and being resurrected, they will be recorded in irminsul, since the night kingdom and ancient names are how Natlan connects. In rene's descender criteria, it doesn't say anything about descenders NOT being affected by irminsul so I think my theory is plausible.

Hey, so I also have a theory alongside this that I told my friends lol. Basically, I think once the Traveler dies, he becomes a part of the Irminsul and loses his Descender status. He’ll also gain the Pyro Gnosis… but I think, despite this, the Tsaritsa and the rest of the Fatui will not chase him for the gnosis. Instead, I theorize that they will wait for his arrival in Snezhnaya but they will not take the gnosis from him but instead use the Traveler and the rest of the gnoses to catalyze whatever they’re planning, maybe bringing back the Traveler’s descender status? I also think this has been long planned and perfectly timed during the Traveler’s awakening - otherwise what would the reason be as to why the Tsaritsa coincidentally decided to start collecting these gnoses right when Traveler wakes up? And this leads to another theory of mine - that perhaps it was Pierro who foresaw this situation happening in Natlan and advised the Tsaritsa about all of it. Also, another silly little theory additional to this is that Pierro is Vedrfolnir, the Visionary. His eyes also look like they’ve been blinded like Vedrfolnir’s.

They won't kill Capitano simply for the reason of the potential earnings of having him be a playable character.

I absolutely love this video. You're incredibly underrated, I need more of your theories ASAP! But there's still something I'm wondering about... I don't think that them foreshadowing that the traveler might die is actually that simple and it simply means they'll die and get resurrected... I think there's gonna be an additional plot twist, just like they foreshadowed the gnosis being returned to neuvillette last year but we didn't know about focalors...

I’m a little sad because Natlan is so short of lengthy events. Hopefully they will add Capitano to the list of characters playable. I think he is a well loved character amongst fandom. I especially like his morality in response to protecting others. (Xilonen especially).

congrats for the 100. I really like the idea of the traveler being the one dying/sacrificing himself. though my reasoning is much simpler. Just the ancient name, It's been a major topic for 3 patches now and now that we finally got it, it would really be anticlimatic for it not being use.... Now from what said in the trailer, my wild guess is that perhaps the Traveler will try to absorb the abyss and it will be too much for him thus mavuika will have to put him down (I actually don't see Hoyo making an Archon kill the traveler so perhaps Capitano will do it) also they really like to mash AQ and SQ in their trailers so it's hard to know which part belong to what

There’s something wrong with this theory if the traveler dies are we sure the game won’t just show a game over screen and force us back into the fight don’t forget when they saved Ei she wondered why the traveler hadn’t aged for 500 years then there’s also Istaroth who also occurred in the story mentioned multiple times I doubt hoyoverse would allow the death of the mc

I really hope Capitano is not going to die. I think they are excluding him from the preview for story reasons, since they want us to think he will die. And we will get him later in Natlan or Snez. I hope lol

I theorize that the dialouge at the end was xbalanque and ronova, I think that ronova may be the one who ended the life of the 3rd descender to creat the gnosises (IDK HOW TO SPELL THE PLURAL OF THAT) man i srsly love ronova

Sorry for the long comment but here are my silly thoughts :D No evidence for this so i could be wrong but I feel like the "failure" line could be from Mavuika's SQ, since the trailers are always misleading and it's a (random(?)) female voice which could be an npc from her quest not in the AQ. The devs said that the traveler will get pyro during a special moment (or something like that), in the trailer Traveler had hydro when fighting gosoythoth but in that first shot when mavuika's bike appeared in the night kingdom, the traveler had pyro, what confused me is that this happened in what looks similar as the boss area where they showed the dragon but the area didn't looked destructed, so does that mean that the fight with the dragon didn't happen yet? Does that mean the "special moment" is during the fight with gosoythoth? But now that i think about it why would mavuika need the bike in the boss area 😅 could that be after the fight and they are going back? But again, it didn't look like a big fight has happened,,,anyway sorry for rambling. Capitano's fate is a mystery, i hope he isn't going to die. The descender line seems to be spoken by the dragon but without the distortion, if it's in the present then i think we could have a simulanka situation like with durin and if he really say after that the same following line in the trailer ("you've destroyed this world's hope...") then something must have happened to the traveler but there is a chance it could have been said in another topic. If it's in the past, then it's probably a memory with xbalanque.

You make some really good points! Separating AQ from SQ is pretty difficult but I tried. It will be super interesting to see how this all plays out!
