The results from the pistol test really surprised me. Let me know if they surprised you too!

I was surprised by the dragon fang because I haven’t seen too many videos on it but I’m definitely gonna have to get some now!

hey, farmer, for my memory will you post the ammo and correct result?

Not surprised when a round a panel is not rated for penetrates. Some armor makers are offering a "IIIA+" build able to stop 5.7 and some other hotter pistol threats.

Sort of thought the 36 gr GPM from Vanguard might make it, but don't recall anyone having tested it. Thanks for including it.

LOL It's not whether or not a round penetrates armor or not that's important it's what the round has left after having penetrated the armor. Since one of the rounds didn't penetrate the armor that would indicate the ones that did penetrate had little energy left. Very likely not enough to do any real damage, then there is the heavy clothing thing.

just for my memories sake, how about listing the ammo and correct result.

WHY'D YOU PUT THE GEL SIDEWYAS AND NOT STRAIGHT? JUST CURIOUS
@TheArmorFarm5 ай бұрын
I put it sideways so that it would support the body armor better and then I could shoot anywhere on the plate. Also so that I could try to see when things went through.

A lot of those little fast bullets like 5.7mm,.17 HMR,etc will go through 3a, and by default level 2 too, but the chance of being shot with those kinds of things is rather low.

The chances are definitely low. It was just a test I've always wanted to do. Especially with all the conflicting information on the internet!

@@TheArmorFarm as I've heard it explained, by people like Buffman...is that the minimum established standard for 3A won't stop something like SS198 (which is a better round to test than the SS195 you used), but some panel makers slightly exceed the standard, even though still called "3A" and so it will stop that round. So it depends on who you get the 3A from and whether or not they go above the standard.
