There are a lot of bolts in that cylinder head! Something a 6.0 owner never has to worry about saying😬 And I could see that hoist wanting to bow out with that block on it HEAVY!

With diesel engines, I fill the oil filter with oil on engines that have a vertical mount on the engine like the Cummins 5.9 has. Can't go wrong!

I just bought a 2008 Dodge Ram 3500 with a Cummins with only 85,000 miles that has been sitting for the past 12 years from a family friend that is a farmer who has a fleet of these trucks. $10 grand but the engine has a spun bearing on #4 & #6 cylinders. I work on airplanes and I'm an attorney so I have no time but I'm also skimpy on who I trust to work on my vehicles

Thanks man! You'd be looking at a minimum of 30hrs labor, with parts involved, you're probably looking at somewhere near $7-8k

So what did you pay for the truck and what did you put into it? There’s one local to me with a cracked piston for 5k. Has a new tranny and fuel system. I was going to pick it up but idk if it’s worth 5?

That's a tough call. I ended up putting more than I wanted to into this truck, I think around 11k, but I did sell it with no problem for 15 so....
