Number 1
This was actually the second animated feature film to receive a rating PG from the MPAA after Tim Burton’s other animated film, The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Number 2
Richard E Grant ended up playing Barkis Bittern, but Alan Rickman and Kevin Spacey were also considered to take the role.
Number 3
While Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter ended up playing Victor and the Bride, Jim Carrey and Angelina Jolie were considered as well.
Number 4
The final duel scene and the drinking of poison at the end directly mirror the events of the classic story of Hamlet.
Number 5
Victor helping Emily gain her freedom in the end is foreshadowed when Victor releases a blue butterfly that resembles the ones Emily turns into.

Ok Johnny dep was the perfect choice for a withdrawn, shy, self conscious character. However, while Jim’s voice would have been out of place, maybe his wackyness and improve would have added to the character. Not saying it would sound better, it honestly would be out of place, but, I don’t know, Victor always felt lacking as a character, maybe he needed more spontaneous lines and quips. I wish we could combine Johnny’s voice with Jim’s off the cuff improve ability.

Na. Victor's beauty was in how extraordinarily ordinary he was, and he held out against Emily and the entire underworld IN SPITE of his shy, quiet, introverted pushover nature. A loud extrovert Victor just wouldn't be the same.

@@Furrina89 Fair, and i do like calling him extraordinarily ordinary thats funy 😂 I just think maybe Victor needed more, agency i geus? like where he knows who he loves, as opposed to being dragged left and right, i dont know, i just want a remake so we can see the movie again! 😂

@@harmonylynx252I oppose to any remake - it’s perfect as it is 😭 however, if you are needing an expansion on Victors character and his decision making the deleted song “Erase” is absolutely perfect! If they ever make an Anniversary edition of the movie, they *have* to include it! Not too sure why they didn’t unless they were running out of time ugh. It’s pure perfection for such a short song.

@@LaBellesGrace I frikin love love this movie, and alot of the deleted scenes where spectacular!!..however, i kiiinda understand why vjctlrs song was deleted. I really wanted Victor to sing, but the song they deleted didint really tell us anything that we didnt already know. Tears to shed works because we see Emilys pain, thunking that she has nothing to offer victor because all he sees is a corpse. Victors song erased only sings about 1 day, not really how its affected him or victoria. I get why some like it, i just think its alittle plain.

I thought this also… I think Jim Carey would’ve done good playing as that skeleton with the 1 eyeball instead

I still believe that the butterfly Victor had at the beginning was one made after Emily lost her life, I have no evidence to back it up it just feels right

Due to the scene where the Emily turns to butterflies at the end I have come to think that the dead are in purgatory and Victor freeing her allowed her soul to let go and move on to the next part of the afterlife

@@clawdwil I don't know because notmally Emily should be a skeleton and it takes at least 2 years for a corpse to be one. Except if the fact she was burried under the snow slowed the decomposition

I love Jim Carey but since he’s more of a comedian I’ve noticed some films he played in that was like more of a drama he tried making it comedies doing his own thing which ended up not being funny…. If anything Jim Carey could’ve played that 1 skeleton with the 1 eyeball.

Tbh I never considered the Duel and poison being a reference to Hamlet! For those who don't know, Hamlet had to duel against Laertes because he accidentally killed Polonius, Laertes' father, behind the curtain because he thought he was Claudius and also Laertes was furious because of Ophelia's suicide and Gertrude, Hamlet's mother, ended up drinking the poison and dying
