He wasn't comparing subspecies just analogues. Also african forest leopard although being poorly studied have been theorised to be a lot bigger than any other subspecies because they're the top predators of their ecosystems. And it would make more sense if they are as big as estimated because usually when animals move from a mainland environment to an island they get smaller do deal with the lack of resources especially seeing that they used to share their habitat with another big cat (tigers) which didn't go extinct that long ago and might have existed around the same time humans were in the island so leopards would need to be fast and agile to survive along side them. And just incase you think I'm being biased or something and it goes the same for parsian leopards where they shared their homerange with the asiatic lion and the caspian tiger and their current size is due to the climate where animals grow larger in cold environments to conserve their body heat .... I'm from the middle east and we have the smallest leopard subspecies out there , they are basically oversized house cats 😅.

And aside from that, whenever you see the size of an animal being stated that's an average and on average African leopard are bigger that means they calculated more than one specimen and give the estimate. Though there's no doubt that places like India and Sri Lanka have a larger population of leopards so you can be proud of that.

I personally think the lion would’ve beaten the Tiger. Because how big cats hunt, unlike house cats which are sadistic, and like to play with their food before killing it, they like to kill things instantly usually by breaking their neck or cutting open their throat. The male lion is basically invulnerable to that kind of attack due to its large mane making it harder for the tiger to bite or claw the lion’s neck which would give the lion time enough to retaliate and bring its larger size and weight to bear on the tiger.

@t74guard782 жыл бұрын
You do realize that most of the videos here on you.tube, like this one, are not made by experts but by people who want to make videos. The information in them is of their own opinion more than actual fact. To learn the truth and correct information about animals, it is best to go to your local library and several others around where you live. The internet isn't 100% reliable due to the fact that anyone can make something up with Microsoft word or make a video, like the ones you see here, then upload it. Libraries have mostly published material and not just anyone can get something published. I know this because I have been reading and watching things on big cats and bears since the early 70's. I have a vast knowledge of these animals and pretty much know what information is correct and what isn't. What I am saying is don't take what people say in their videos as 100% fact and accurate. There isn't to many videos here that give the same information on the same animals. Facts are determined by several different sources all coming to the same conclusions or something very similar. One or two sources does not make something a fact.

@@t74guard78 I absolutely hate people like you. If you were really had *vast knowledge* about these animals (which I highly doubt) you would actually encourage videos like this. Because they make people who had no idea about these animals curious about the subject. It’s not about you, nor it is about the 100% reliability of the internet. It is about making people aware of these animals and making them curious enough to care and learn more. Videos like these help a lot, while people like you are what turns them away.

The first video was good, it's just that the badger one was honestly off. There's only like a 2-3 lb. difference between the two, which really isn't enough to be an advantage, and the American badger is a lot more aggressive in addition to having tougher competition. So if the two fought, it would be the most likely winner. As far as this one goes, this one was really good, however - and I know that you probably didn't want a complete blowout - but I just didn't really understand why you used a tiger (especially the largest subspecies of tiger) against an African lion whenever Asia has their own subspecies of lion. I personally would've put the African lion against the Asiatic lion as well as the white rhino against the Indian rhino, the rock python against the reticulated python, and either the cape buffalo against the water buffalo, or the African leopard against the Persian or Sri Lankan leopard. Which in my opinion would've still resulted in a win for Africa, but would've made it closer match-up at 3-2.

While the buffalo is more aggressive, the gaur weighs nearly 1000 pounds/450 kg more (and thus is close to 50% larger than the buffalo). With this much of a size difference, aggression doesn’t matter as much.
@lukeozade99572 жыл бұрын
Lol a gaur wouldn't stand a chance against a cape buffalo. Apart from the aggression mentioned. It's built for fighting whereas the gaurs only defence is size. 1) buffalo hide is twice as thick 2) the boss on a buffalo's horns is so thick if the gaur and buffalo charged for a headbutt the gaurs skull would crack in two. 3) buffalo are short compared to gaur. If it gets under the head the gaur is instantly done 4)I've seen big horn rams crack a bulls skull. Now imagine a ram 3/4 the size of a bull taking on a normal bull. Same outcome between a cape buffalo and gaur.

Kinda unfair on the Honey Badger part, given they are fairly common in the whole middle-east and India and the Lion VS Tiger Part... While Siberian Tiger has been recorded as the largest but on average Bengal tigers are larger in current time... Historically the average was similar for both populations, but now Bengal Tigers are larger on average and are larger than Lions too. And African Leopard isn't a species it's a subspecies if anything the largest Leopard subspecies is found in Sri Lanka, and there are more Leopard Subspecies found in Asia, that's just BS handing Leopards to Africa, heck even Mega Cities like Mumbai and Jaipur here in India have leopards. An Indian/Himalayan/Tibetan Wolf or Dhole VS African Wild Dog would have been more fair and rather should have used Rhinos than badgers or even Cape Buffalo VS Gaur/Water Buffalo. Leopard was just too unfair.
@lukeozade99572 жыл бұрын
Lol a cape buffalo would stomp a gaur. Sure the gaur has the weight advantage but buffalo have alot more aggression plus they don't only have deadly horns but the boss of the horns is super thick so if a gaur decides to charge head to head it's skull would fracture. They aren't called the black death for nothing in africa. Again the white rhino would skewer the larger indian rhino simple because of weaponry, the indian rhino has a smaller and blunter horn and despite the thicker skin would be impaled by the bigger head and horn of a white rhino. African dogs would clap a dhole and should you want to compare hyenas the spotted would clap the brown hyena. The only 2 w's asia has on africa is bears and tigers. The rest are clapped.

cry harder... African leopards are much stronger than any leopards found in Asia it's not even close... and then why compare lions to a tiger... why not compare the African Lion to the Asian lions.. there are no tigers in Africa and Comparing lions to tiger was just a pity call so Asia can win some
@niharg20112 жыл бұрын
@@chiboy2308 You clown, I said Leopard shouldn't even be contention, cause it is fairly common both continents... And no an African Leopard isn't stronger than a Sri Lankan leopard. You can go check the research papers available online or the simple size difference of both
@niharg20112 жыл бұрын
@@lukeozade9957 Lol nah a Cape buffalo can't stomp a Gaur it's like European and American Badger scenario again... Yes the Cape Buffalo is more aggressive but it just won't make a difference against an animal almost twice it's size... It's called Black death because of the human kills and not it's ability to push off larger animals, they get bullied by Rhinos and Elephants all the time... And you might wanna check the skull anatomy of a Gaur they too have a bony crest on top of their skulls and besides these animals don't bash heads like sheep they push each other or charge on sides with them. So there goes that argument and sure as hell a Cape Buffalo isn't outdoing Gaur in any strength competition, You know the basic behaviour of the Cape Buffalo which is very commonly documented, but you aren't aware on how they actually clash, or about the huge size difference here. Another mistake is Indian Rhino being bigger, it is bigger than the Black Rhino but the White Rhino is larger, and it will probably come out on top, I mentioned that cause it would be a closer comparison than some other clashes mentioned here, Also I love how conveniently ignored Wolves from Asia.
@lukeozade99572 жыл бұрын
@@niharg2011 a boney crest isn't the same as a boss. The one is skull the other is a ceratin base capable of absorbing shock. Plus they have a much thicker neck. Comparing a 900kg buffalo to 3 ton rhino and 6 ton bull elephant is laughable. Also a gaur isn't close to double the weight of a cape buffalo, bull can reach a metric ton, a bull gaur gets to about 1.35 ton to 1.5 ton on the big end. That's not double the weight 🤣. Also with your size defeats all the 13kg european badger should beat a 10kg honeybadger and i think anyone with half a brain knows the honeybadger would clap the european badger lol. The gaur has a boney ridge of about 6 to 8 inches. I've seen a cape buffalo boss measure to 12 to 14 inches in thickness and remember, its ceratin so it's alot stronger than a boney crest. Also I've seen bulls take on 3 to 5 lions. Gaurs go down to 1 tiger, granted tigers are stronger but 5 lions would clap a tiger🤷♂️. Also thicker skin and a height advantage (because being taller isn't always a advantage). A cape buffalo would charge a gaur and crack it's skull head to head on to of that shout it come close it would only hook the throat and bowels of the gaur (who has hide half as thick) while the gaur could only try and goar the back of the buffalo face to face and that's the toughest part of their hide. The only way a gaur wins is if it does a preemptive charge to the side of the buffalo using it's weight advantage. Which i already said is an advantage. The buffalo just has more tools to it's advantage. Same with a white rhino and indian rhino 🤷♂️

Actually he wasn't correct. Apparently you have been reading many other people who stated the weight of the tiger you didn't agree with. You should know that many saying the same thing is mostly likely the truth compared to if only one or two say something different. You comment to me is saying everybody else is wrong but this one person is correct. That is not how things in this world work. The results of the many outweigh the results of the few. All Siberian tigers alive today make up this species and on average weigh between 500 - 600lbs. There are many in captivity over 600lbs while trying to determine the average size in the wild is incomplete due to the low population and the area in which they live. There are many who man has never seen before and the few they have been able to get information on have mostly all been tigresses. Recently, in the last 5 years, there have been several tracks of very large tigers discovered. One is estimated to weigh 700+lbs and a second around 650lbs. A third one, which was seen by a local hunter, is estimated between 600 - 650lbs. So there are still very large tigers out there in the wild. They just haven't been seen or been able to get any information on. To many people, like yourself, will believe in one source and what it says. That is not how facts are determined. It takes several different sources all coming to the same or very similar conclusions to consider something a fact. The Siberian Tiger is still the biggest and strongest cat in the world. No African lion would stand a chance against a Siberian tiger in a one on one fight. Hell lions barely have a chance against a Bengal tiger. Anyway the African lion is not bigger than the Siberian tiger. Not even close. The average African lion weighs between 390 - 440lbs. Large Siberian Tigresses are pretty much the same size. I saw this video that had a single African lion kept in the same enclosure with 3 Siberian Tigresses. All 3 were larger than the lion and that is one group of females the lion couldn't rule over. They dominated him. Anyway he got the weight of the tiger wrong and the lion a bit to large. He was correct in who would win a fight between the two though.

My main 2 conflicts here are that the honey badger could have been paired with another honeybadger, which would make a more fair fight. Also the african lion could have been paired with the asiatic lion, which in all honesty would be a much less fair fight, to which I have little doubt would go to the african lion, but both are lions, as opposed to them just both being felines, which to my mind would have been more applicable in an asia vs Africa scenario.

At least one reason can be because Asia is more densely populated. Indian lions can grow to size of African ones but their range won't permit it. Lots on animals were killed for trophies too thus smaller size helps evolution wise. Just my opinion.

Makes sense that most of the African animals would be more powerful overall. It's a constant arms race to see who is better adapted. It also factors in the fact that African is one of the only places on Earth that has a large collection of Mega Fauna, so this also factors in the arms race mentality. Other places on the planet like in Asia, there not many large species. So the selective pressure to get more powerful isn't as demanding as in Africa, with some few exceptions [like the Siberian Tiger].
