Great work Peter on your fixture keep up with your videos they are very good.

It feels good when pieces fit that well after all the work it took to get there.

Yes it does. Still got a ways to go and a few more videos. Thanks!

Its all coming together! The final product will be pretty sweet, cant wait. Thanks for the great vid again...............SKI

Appreciate the comment. Its getting closer to what this is all about showing a setup that machines one complete assembly of parts in one cycle. I think this will be something not usually seen on KZbin. I have in a production environment done this before. It is akin to just in time machining so you don't have to wait for every part of a whole production run to be finished to ship product. Although in my case I can't do the hard anodizing so I will need a certain quantity of parts to go to finish before assembly. It would be un economical to finish a small quantity of parts. Maybe I will look into a small anodizing kit.

Nice fit on the bearings, that support looks like it will be very strong. I use Premiere Pro for my videos, it certainly has a lot of capability I probably use about 5% of it.

I have been watching some KZbin tutorial videos and can't wait to try a few things especially with sound , image stabilization and color correction. With the other software I didn't do any of that. Premier also renders most effects in real time or close to it on my new laptop.

i know its a bit too late but did you consider Davinci Resolve?

I have never used it. So I guess the answer is no.

Wouldnt the bearing race start rolling slowly and eat out the fitment as its not tight fit in the support?
@EdgePrecision5 жыл бұрын
Possibly that would be a concern if this was a high speed application. But the speed is very slow. Also with tapered roller bearings the more you preload them the tighter the outer race (Cup) gets in its bore.
@jarnokarjalainen26685 жыл бұрын
Tighter yes but you wouldnt be able to "lock up" the outer race with just preload without damaging the bearing. But as it is slow speed and looking at the video it looks also well sealed I can understand your point.

What kind of mill and lathe do you have in there?

The machines in my garage are a Haas TM-1 mill and Haas TL-1 lathe.

Still don't understand why you need the adjustable boring head, can't the Haas pocket out the bearing pocket within a 1/2 th.. If not why not use the bore head after you pocket without moving the table?, and why move the table after you indicated the pocket. Curious arm chair machinist want to know! Dave....PS love the split screen on the last video

Yes you are right the machine could circular interpolate the bore. As with any CNC machine there is inaccuracies, the best this machine can do is .0005" circularity (I own a Renishaw ball bar gage I have tested it). This would at the best, ignoring tool push off a bore out of roundness of .0005". Now for this slow speed application that would be acceptable. But in a high speed application that could lead to bearing failure. The boring head is a much easer way to get a round close tolerance straight bore. Also I wanted to show using the boring head. There are other things I want to show about using boring heads on a CNC machines in future videos. Thanks for the comment.

It is always better to bore it with the single point tool: quicker, better circularity, better surface... Same as drilling is still the quickest material removal rate, and alsoe rough boring is very high mrr

That Iscar "Its Bore" heads or D'ANDREA made, only Iscar puts a sticker and a bigger price...

Check out VEGAS movie studio, they took over Sony movie studio and it's not subscription based. I've found it to be good and there is someone on youtube that has great tutorials.
