This KILLS the experience of seeing a DJ who could literally just pick tracks based on the mood of the crowd and flow for hours and hours. If you are relying too much on cue points you begin to do the same things w/ the same tracks, it's taking the JAZZ out of DJing. MORE IMPORTANTLY, these transitions could easily be programmed into software. When everything is already locked into warp marked music w/ loops set, the button mashing is basically just for fun/show. I am sure some of you think this is way too easy with today's technology, but for beginners like me with ear problems this helps a lot. I don't have to push my ears as much and make them suffer. Thanks for the video tutorial.

nice video, always good to see some basic dj knowledge so well demostrated in a youtube video. technique 5 isn't exactly a regular basic techninque but that's pretty awesome use for a digital setup and one that i'm sure we'll be seeing more of being used.

@ONEyeMarco I've got to agree with your post. Watching Ean's videos even have turned me towards the thought of playing small live-sets as a hobby-DJ, and given me a lot of ideas towards controllerism-performing a lot of my own music as well. So as you said; Thanks Ean Golden.

I do hiphop and have instrumental versions of each track i have. I scratch drop all my tracks in as well. When the 1st hook hits on the active song, i throw in the instrumental version of the next song and let it play until the end of the 2nd hook, then while just the instrumental is playing, i get the version with words and scratch over it for a couple measures before i drop it in. This is a good setup for doing double copy tricks like looping, stuttering and beat juggling during the set.

@djlastlaugh if you're using traktor and you have bpmed the track you can move forward and backwards by however many bars at a time by using the MOVE mode of the advanced deck controls (the down arrow under the loop bar, where you set cues and grids)

some do some don't, depends on the dj . some people like armin like to feel out the crowd and play what comes from that, others prefer routines which is nice when you have marked your mix points and cues
